Now that Kaylee is a little older (she’ll be 2 in just 3 weeks!), I can FINALLY wear jewelry again without fear of her breaking it. So I have been very much into exploring eco-responsible companies that make beautiful jewelry.

I was introduced to Reija Eden Jewelry through a local Meetup group I sponsor, and instantly fell in love with her unique designs.

As a child, I was obsessed with pretty rocks and was determined to become a geologist. That never happened, but my love of beautiful stones still remains.

Each of the pieces of jewelry made by Reija Eden features a unique stone or freshwater pearl – and each piece is handcrafted and designed to ensure the stone or pearl is the centerpiece of a unique, stunning piece of jewelry.

She explains her creative process better than I ever could!

“My creative process is pretty complex. I usually fall in love with a particular stone or freshwater pearl and I start to get an idea of how I want to incorporate it into the design whether it’s going to be a necklace, a bracelet or pair of earrings. I usually draw the design so that I can get back to it later to define and finalize it. Once the design is finalized, I get to work and start to make the piece of jewelry. Many times I end up changing the design as I go and a new exciting piece emerges that I hadn’t thought of. I love working with sterling silver and 14K gold-filled wire. Working with wire is so cool because it truly allows me to be creative and the end result is very organic. Just recently I’ve fallen in love with argentium sterling silver wire, which is very tarnish resistant, and hypoallergenic so people with metal allergies many times can wear pieces made with argentium sterling silver. I’m also starting to incorporate recycled precious metals into my designs as much as possible by partnering up with Hoover & Strong, one of the largest recycled precious metal manufacturers. My jewelry pieces are packaged in jewelry boxes made out of recycled paper. Eco-friendly jewelry is not only trendy but something you can wear with great pride knowing that the gorgeous piece of jewelry you are wearing is supporting a great cause. I also love supporting various charities and believe in giving back so when you buy Reija Eden Jewelry, you can feel good about knowing that you are supporting people in need. Let’s make a difference together!”

It took me a long time to pick out the piece of jewelry I wanted to review, but after much agonizing I finally settled on the Delicious Drusy Sterling Silver Necklace (mine doesn’t have the amethyst like the one at that link, but I don’t see the same one on her site anymore). When the package arrived at the Post Office, I could hardly wait to open it.

The box was tied with a vibrant ribbon.

And inside was a pretty satin bag.

And inside that little satin bag was my beautiful necklace!

I absolutely love how unique and beautiful this necklace is, and I’m so happy that I have found an eco-responsible jeweler that makes such pretty jewelry that suits my taste perfectly!
