One of my goals this year is to make more natural remedies for my family’s health needs. I use a lot of natural remedies now, but I really want to learn how to incorporate more herbal remedies into what we’re doing now.

Bulk Herb Store sent me copies of the DVD series, Making Herbs Simple, Volumes 1 & 2 to review. While I enjoy books, I really like to watch how-to videos when I’m learning new skills. I find it very helpful to see the steps.

Making-Herbs-Simple-1 Volume 1 (78 minutes long) is a great intro to herbs and their uses. Herbalist Shoshanna walks you through identifying herbs that may already be growing in your backyard and shows you how to collect, store and use them. She gives instructions on how to make tinctures, poultices and more.

Making-Herbs-Simple-2 In Volume 2 (75 minutes long), Shoshanna shows us how to identify common herbs in the wild. She talks about where you’ll find different herbs, discusses what their uses are and how to make natural remedies out of them. She covers infusions, herbal oils salves, herb cards and more.

You can watch an excerpt from Making Herbs Simple Volume 2 about a Poison Ivy Remedy.

I found both of these DVDs to be very informative. Each DVD also comes with a companion booklet that talks more in depth about each of the herbs and recaps of the recipes she covered. These booklets are very are helpful!

While I haven’t had a chance to make any of the remedies from the videos yet, you can be sure I will be in the near future!

If one of your New Year’s Green Resolutions is to make more herbal remedies, you should definitely look at the Making Herbs Simple DVDs!
