We do the majority of our food preparation completely from scratch. Living in Uruguay, we got used to doing almost everything by hand. After moving back to the US, sometimes I feel spoiled with all of the kitchen gadgets that are available at an affordable price (almost everything in this realm is 2-3 times more expensive in Uruguay than it is here).
We have never really used a food processor, but always said it was something we wanted to try to cut down on food prep time. Brian’s mom bought us a food processor for Christmas. And of course she did her research and got us the only food processor that is BPA free!
It seems that the food prep industry is a bit behind the baby industry in removing BPA from its products. In my research, I found that there is only 1 line of food processors that are BPA free—the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Series. As far as I could tell, all KitchenAid and Cuisinart food processors DO contain BPA. (Of course the BEABA Babycook is BPA free, but I don’t include that since it still falls into the category of baby items).
So, if you’re trying to remove products containing BPA from your household, you should check out the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth food processor. We love ours!

Some food processors are made from toxic containing plastics. To overcome stiff market competition looks and functions have become the mere focus instead of the health that using such product may cause to. We all have the reason to be thankful to the maker of Big Mouth food processor.
There is one other brand of BPA-food processor that I have found. The The Breville BFP800XL Sous Chef Food Processor:
