This year, one of my personal goals is to get our home more organized. I would love for everything to have a place, and for everyone to be in the routine of putting things where they belong. A mom can dream, right?
I have been tackling the girls room, which seems like a feeble attempt since they have so many toys! Every time I turn around, I’m stepping on another toy. Before Christmas, we took a few bags full of toys out of their room and I feel like the bulk didn’t go down a bit.
While Zoë is more than happy to go down to fewer toys (she’s growing up too fast!), Kaylee is nowhere near ready to give up any of her precious toys. So, we have started with Zoë’s closet and getting it more orderly so we can keep her organized.
We’ve always just used plastic tubs to store their toys in, but now that the girls are older and they don’t need such easy access to their toys, I have been wanting to get them toy boxes to keep more of their toys hidden neatly away. So, when Teamson offered to send us their Happy Farm Toy Box to review, I was beyond thrilled.
All of Teamson’s gorgeous designs are hand painted by talented artists with lead-free paint, so no two pieces are exactly the same!
The craftsmanship is beautiful and you can see the hand carving in the piece, giving it an extra special feel.
Their children’s furniture line is made from MDF (medium-density fiberboard). MDF is made from reclaimed wood by highly compressing wood fibers with adhesive. It’s smooth, so it can be painted, stained to look like hard wood or covered with veneers. By using recovered wood fiber instead of newly harvested wood, MDF helps reduce waste added to landfills, slow deforestation and preserve animal habitats.
I definitely appreciate products that care for the environment, so I was looking forward to seeing the Teamson product first-hand! The toy box arrived unassembled in a flat box. All of the pieces were in great shape and I was excited to get it put together.
I have a lot of experience putting together ready-to-assemble furniture, and the Teamson toy box went together much like the other furniture I have assembled. One word of caution: be sure to make sure you are choosing the correct size screw as a couple of them are very similar in size. It took me just over an hour to assemble it. Not too bad.
One of my favorite features is the lid. It will not slam down on your child’s fingers! You have to push down gently on it to get it to close. Since my girls don’t always take their time, this is important to me.
Teamson has so many other adorable designs that my girls and I love too! I am in love with the Magic Garden Bookshelf!
And the Enchanted Forest Kitchen is unlike any other one I’ve seen!
I think Kaylee’s favorite would have to be the Sunny Safari Rocking Chair – she just loves her monkeys!
