Energy. It seems like I never have enough. From the moment I became pregnant with my first child, it seems like not having enough energy is a fact of life for me.
After talking to so many other moms, it seems to be a very common problem. Moms today are trying to do it all, and we're leaving ourselves in the dust.
If you're a busy mom wearing many hats, then you probably understand where I'm coming from. At the end of the day, you're so exhausted from taking care of everyone else that you have nothing left for you.
I've been working hard to change that dynamic in my family. I'm asking my daughters to help out more and I'm demanding that my husband be more helpful too. I can't do it all on my own anymore.
A few changes I've made to have more time and energy for me include:
- Sleeping as much as I need to
- Making healthier food choices
- Avoiding alcohol
- Drinking plenty of water to stay hydrated
- Getting in exercise when I can
- Taking supplements
I have to admit. I really struggle with doing the things I need to do for myself. I feel guilty taking time to care for myself because of the million other things I know need to be done. But I don't have the energy to do those things if I don't remember to care for myself.
One thing I have a hard time with is remembering my supplements. I have tried pill boxes, setting reminders and mentally attaching my supplement intake to my meals. Nothing seems to work for more than a week or two.
I recently discovered The Refreshinq Co. (the -inq in Refreshinq stands for “I Never Quit”). Their supplements come in a very simple format – transdermal patches with slow-release nutrients that makes remembering supplements so much easier.
I've been testing out their Energy Support Patch for the last few weeks, and I'm really enjoying the results. I feel more focused, more energetic and a better ability to be present in my tasks.
Every morning while my cup is brewing, I put a patch on my arm and I can feel a difference within minutes. I went a couple days without one and I was back to that sluggish, fatigued feeling that plagues me most days.
We've had soooo much snow this year. It has been absolutely amazing, but we live on an unmaintained dirt road that isn't plowed by the city. So we've spent a lot of time shoveling. It's a great workout, and the Refreshinq Energy Support Patch has definitely been helpful on those days!
The ingredients are natural too: Guarana Extract, Green Tea Extract, Quercetin, Agmatine Sulfate, CoQ10, Cosmoperine, B-12 (cyanocobalmin)
In talking with the company, I wanted to find out how much caffeine I was getting from the patch each day. I was told that you should get about 25 mg of caffeine per day from one patch.
There are about 95 mg of caffeine in the average cup of coffee and 35-70 mg of caffeine in a cup of green tea. So you aren't getting a ton of caffeine from the patch. It does its job at providing energy though!
In addition to the Energy Support Patch, The Refreshinq Co. offers other nutraceutical patches, including:
- Vitamin D Support Patch
- Weight Support Patch
- Customizinq Patch
- Workout + Recoverinq Patch
- Stress Supportinq Patch
- Blood Sugar Supportinq Patch
- Daily Multi Replenishinq Patch
The Refreshinq Co. has a goal to create a movement across the country to inspire people to meet their health and wellness goals. I think with this offering of easy to use supplements, they are well on their way to helping people achieve their goals.
These transdermal nutraceutical patches are available in 5-day trials and full 30-day supplies. They can be purchased online through the Q STORE.
