All of have experienced trauma in our lives in some way, at some time. Whether that trauma was physical, mental or emotional – all forms of trauma can affect us.

Here’s an introductory video on what trauma all is about:

I never really thought through how deeply traumatic experiences can shape your life before reading the Touching Trauma, Healing from Life’s Deepest Wounds e-book from Cora Rennie.

Here’s a brief list of experiences that can cause trauma:

Whether you’re aware of the effects of any of these experiences may be having on your life, you could be experiencing trauma you need to heal yourself from.

Some common trauma related symptoms include:

  • Heightened agitation and emotions OR numbness, not feeling anything
  • Intense physical reactions to reminders/associated triggers of the event (e.g. pounding heart, rapid breathing, nausea, muscle tension, sweating)
  • Physical aches and pains
  • Denial as in ‘can’t believe this happened’ or denying it’s impact/importance such as ‘well, it wasn’t as bad as what happened to her’
  • Panic and anxiety attacks

Touching_Trauma_E-PackageI found this really interesting. If you have any of these symptoms and have experienced a potentially traumatic event, consider reading Cora Rennie’s booth, Touching Trauma.

It’s a deep read, so be sure to set aside some quiet time to get through it. She really explains the ins and outs of why humans experience trauma and why we need to heal ourselves from it.

She also provides a list of resources to help you heal from trauma naturally. I like that she provides so many options so you can choose the method that most resonates for you.

You can pick up your copy of Touching Trauma here. You can also sign up to access a free 4-part video series here.
