I had a lot of fun browsing around The Ultimate Green Store to try to decide which product I wanted to try. I think I was probably on there for 2 or 3 hours! Window shopping with kids has become browsing online for me.

But ultimately, I settled on this cutting board set from Bambu:

I have needed some new cutting boards, and bamboo is such a great, renewable material! The set includes 2 small (6.5 x 6.5”) and 1 large (10″ x 7″) cutting board (retail value: $38.95).

Bamboo can be sustainably harvested every 3-5 years, making it very environmentally friendly. I love that these cutting boards are made from certified organic bamboo, which means the bamboo is grown without chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers. Only water-based formaldehyde-free adhesives are used in manufacturing and no bleaches or dyes are used.

I love the design of the boards. I think they’d make great boards to cut on, then serve the food directly on. The description says that the boards resist swelling, which is awesome and one problem I always seem to have with wood cutting boards. You cannot put them in the dishwasher or microwave (not a problem since we don’t have a microwave).
