“In the first new Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff book in nine years, Kristine Carlson shows how moms can live with less stress and more happiness. Kristine Carlson gives mothers tried-and-true advice that will empower them to find greater peace, joy, and harmony within themselves and their homes. Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms reveals how to: be a mom (not a friend), balance being a woman and a mom, pursue your passion (but not at the expense of your children, and reclaim your family time.”

After reading that description, I knew I needed this book! As a mom, I know first-hand how easy it is to get caught up in the small stuff, and how important it is to take a step back and take a deep breath and look at the big picture.

I have always been a huge reader, but with young kids, I don’t have time for that anymore. I love this book because when I need a few “me minutes” I can pick it up and read a chapter or two and refresh myself.

Women have an innate need to connect with one another, and this book is a nice little way to do that in the comfort of my own home when I just can’t make it out the door. Each chapter is a little anecdote or simple reminder on how to be present and engaged in your life as a mom.

Sometimes when I’ve been dealing with temper tantrums and clingy girls all day, I do need a simple reminder to take a deep breath and let the stress pass before it overwhelms me. While I have a lot of things that I “need” to get done throughout the day, sometimes I need to allow myself to take a break, forget about what I need to be doing and just enjoy playing with my girls.

These times when they are young will pass so fast, and I don’t want to miss out on them. My house may be messy. I may be behind on my work. And I may not have time for me, but I can take the time to enjoy my sweet little girls.

If you’re a mom, I know you can probably relate to these feelings – and you probably need to take a few more minutes for you each day. You should check out Don’t Sweat the Small Stuff for Moms for tips and ideas on how to do that.

I read books to relax with the tv turned off and the window opened if it’s not too hot out.

I “relax” by getting up two hours before my children wake up. It’s the only time during the day I actually have to myself, and it’s sooo quiet!

I drink coffee in the morning before everyone gets up, and stay up later with some ice water (or icecream!) after they go to bed, and blog hop.

Well I’m not working now due to my health, but the most relaxing thing for me is being at the beach, it’s been a while since I’ve been, but I’m going to try & go this summer.
thanks for the giveaway
