Philips Satin Perfect Epilator and Bikini Perfect Trimmer Giveaway

I have 2 awesome prizes lined up for this fabulous giveaway hop to help mom get ready for summer, valued at approximately $200! Philips is providing one of my readers with a Satin Perfect Epilator ($149.99 value) and another reader with a Bikini Perfect Trimmer ($49.99 value)!

Philips Satin Perfect Epilator

When I was asked to review the Philips Satin Perfect Epilator, I was both excited and nervous. I had never used an epilator before, so I really didn’t know what to expect.

What I did know was that I never seemed to have time to shave my legs consistently. And with summer coming up, I needed to find a way to keep from looking like a bigger hippie than I actually am.

So when the epilator arrived on my doorstep, I just kind of stared at the box for a few days before I opened it up and decided to give it a try.

After fully charging the battery, I sat down on my couch (yes, in my living room) with the epilator and bravely went to work. I turned it on and started to glide it up my leg. The epilator instantly started ripping all of the hairs out of my leg, one by one.

I’d be lying if I said it didn’t hurt – a lot. I’m sure I may have even screamed a little bit. The worst pain was on my calves and shin. It really didn’t hurt much at all on my knees or my thighs, which surprised me.

After I finished, there were little red dots all over my legs from where the hair had been pulled out, which scared me at first. But after applying a nice, gentle, natural lotion to them and letting a little time pass, the red dots disappeared and I was left with nice, smooth legs! Hubby was definitely very happy!

I have used it twice since then, and the pain has been less and less each time, which is a huge relief. I’m starting to get the hang of epilating my legs.

I really like that I don’t have to shave them every couple of days to keep them smooth. I have had to epilate about every 2 weeks, but I think that’s because I don’t get all of the hairs every time I do it. I have noticed that when the hair does grow back in, it’s finer than it was when I would shave, so it’s not as noticeable right away.

I do plan to keep epilating my legs. I find it to be much more convenient and long lasting than shaving.

I use an electric razor every day instead of safety razors to save on all the water you need to rinse the razor. This would clearly not be for me, but someone I love.

  24. JR Pickett (Vicki Vix on r/copter form) says

I’d love to win the epilator because it would save me having to shave in the shower. That would help me save on water which is one of my goals this summer. My hair grows pretty quickly so in summer I have to shave my legs often but the product info says that it “the result lasts up to 4 weeks”. It would be awesome to go that long in between shaving. Thanks for the giveaway.

  25. Amanda says

I would like to win the epilator because I HATE shaving my legs so much but my hair is very dark and thick so I have to almost everyday in the summertime.

  26. john mains says

    Q. What do I have to consider when detaching the caps?
    A. To detach one of the caps squeeze both sides of the respective cap and pull it off the appliance. Do not pull on the rolls or the comb of the attachments, because this could lead to a breakage of the cap.

  27. Angela H says

I would love this because I love the way epilators work. I currently have a mini one for small areas but would love a full sized one for my legs!

  28. Diane F says

  31. Michele says

Built in opti light is awesome! I think that is the hardest hair to see….which you usually find after shaving, on your way out the door. I am very sensitive skin and very excited to give this a try.

  32. says

I learned to shower and gently exfoliate before proceeding, hold skin tight to reduce pain and to keep up with it, to keep regrowth under control :)

This would be awesome to have, thanks for the giveaway!!

  33. says

I guess epilators are really good. However, one needs to calm the skin after hair is removed. There are several products which help in calming the skin, but ones which contain witch hazel are good due to their anti-septic properties.

  34. says

Chrystal, the first time I got an epilator, I didn’t open the box for weeks. Lol! Then I finally mustered up the courage to use it despite the fact that it sounded like a lawn mower. You have to exfoliate. It feels like torture at first but like you said stubble free legs for a few weeks seems worth it.
