It has been over a year since I’ve bought mouthwash because all of the nasty chemicals used in the brands you find at most stores. That doesn’t mean we miss having it handy though.

So when I heard that Dr. Sharp had formulated a natural mouthwash, I knew I had to try it! Dr. Sharp’s oral care line is fluoride-free, non-toxic, sustainable and safe to swallow. None of his formulations contain the ingredients most commonly found in traditional brands that we avoid like fluoride, sodium laurel sulfate, parabens or alcohol.

We got to try Dr. Sharp’s alcohol-free, fluoride-free Fresh Mint natural mouthwash. It is formulated with all natural mint oils and organic extracts, and it even comes in a BPA free bottle with cup.

Here are the ingredients:

Water, Glycerin, Polysorbate 80, Hamamelis Virginiana (Witch Hazel) Water, Stevia Rebaudiana Leaf/Stem Extract, Glycyrrhiza Glabra (Licorice) Root Extract, Salvia Officinalis (Sage) Leaf Extract, Sodium Phosphate, Disodium Phosphate, Benzoic Acid, Flavor.

I was curious whether it would actually perform as so many natural products fall short of my expectations. So, I was pleasantly surprised at how well it worked.

When I first swished it around in my mouth, I immediately noticed there was no alcohol burn, and the taste was very mild. But, when I spit it in the sink, my mouth instantly felt minty fresh! I really like it.

Dr. Sharp’s oral care line also includes a fresh mint whitening toothpaste, green tea whitening toothpaste and strawberry cream toothpaste especially formulated for children of all ages. I was sent some samples of those as well, but keep forgetting to try them! I need to do that pronto!

The Natural Fluoride-Free Kids Toothpaste – Strawberry Cream is a fluoride- and detergent-free formula that contains no synthetic colors, flavors, or alcohol. Natural sage and bambusa stem extracts combine to make a natural strawberry flavor, while soothing carrageenan protects gums and maintains good oral health

Dr. Sharp makes a fantastic mouthwash. Because it is alcohol free there is no burning sensation yet your mouth feels refreshed. You don’t have to feel anxious if you swallow any either.
