Since going gluten free myself, I’m realizing how big the problem with gluten actually is. It’s estimated that celiac disease affects 1 out of every 133 people, and approximately 18 million Americans have some degree of gluten sensitivity.

Even a totally healthy intestine can’t totally break down gluten. If you have celiac disease, undigested gluten essentially causes your body’s immune system to lash out at itself, leading to problems like nutrient malabsorption, bloating and diarrhea (or constipation) as well as joint pain, skin rashes and other issues.

So I was excited to hear that PROBAR is moving away from gluten as much as possible. We got to sample their first certified gluten-free product – a fruit-dense, superfood snack bar called Fruition.

Each bar provides 1 serving of fruit along with a 100% vegan, organic, non-GMO, gluten-free medley of dates, oats, chia seeds and cashews.

Fruition is available in 7 flavors:

  • Blueberry
  • Cherry
  • Cran-Raspberry
  • Peach
  • Lemon
  • Strawberry
  • Chocolate Orange

We got to try a couple bars in each flavor and all I can say is yum! The entire box was devoured in 24 hours in my house, and I’m not exaggerating one bit!

We had just gotten back from visiting family in San Diego when we got the package from UPS. Of course after opening the box, we all had to taste one and it was on from there. The girls kept asking for another bar and, well, I had a couple myself!

They were really good, and they have healthy ingredients, so they make a great snack – no matter whether you’re at home or on the go. And they’re safe for celiacs, which is super important to me these days!

I bet you want to try PROBAR now!

If you visit the PROBAR Shop, you can get 40% off your first order with code BLOGGER at checkout!

And one Happy Mothering reader will win a box of 12 PROBARs to try! All you have to do to enter is complete the simple Rafflecopter form below. Good luck!

I actually bought some of these bars the other day and randomly came across this article!

I suffer from celiacs disease and this was the reason I bought some bars, they are really nice and also have chia seeds in which are a really great added bonus.
