When Zoë was a baby, my wrap was a complete and total lifesaver. She would take a 20-minute nap every 2 hours, and the only way I ever got out of the house was if I wore her in that wrap. However, managing to wrap the fabric just right when out in public, especially in places like parking lots, was a challenge. I would have to put the wrap on before we left the house, wear it in the car and hope it wouldn’t need to be re-wrapped anytime during the trip.

So I was very curious to try the Baby K’tan Baby Carrier when I heard about it. It’s a ready-to-wear wrap, meaning there is no actual wrapping involved. It can be worn in all of the same positions as a traditional wrap, without the hassle of wrapping! Now why didn’t I think of that?

The Baby K’tan carrier is made from two loops of cotton that are connected by a third smaller loop called the Back Support Band.

It is a cross between a sling and a structured front baby carrier, offering the positions and benefits of both. It is designed to carry babies and toddlers ranging from 8 to 35 pounds.

Since it has been a warm summer, we were excited to have the opportunity to try the Black Breeze Baby K’tan Baby Carrier. This carrier is made from 50% mesh and 50% cotton, which reduces heat and moisture so it’s cooler, more breathable and more comfortable during warm weather and outdoor activities.

It also includes a matching sash that converts to a handy storage tote.

Baby K’tan also offers the option to personalize your carrier with embroidery. That’s a neat baby shower gift idea.

Overall, I have found the Baby K’tan baby carrier to be a great alternative to the traditional baby wrap for people on the go.

Check out the Baby K’tan Breeze Baby Carrier and connect with Baby K’tan on Facebook and Twitter.

I actually have a regular k’tan. It’s been too hot to wear it lately. It literally feels like an extra shirt. I wish I had the mesh one!

  2. Amy Bailey says

This carrier looks very light weight and cool to wear in summer. Being pregnant this is just what I need :D

  3. Abbi Graves says

What an interesting concept, I have many times put a wrap on in the parking lot and been bummed about it getting all dirty on the ground. Would love to try this.

  4. Angela Reed-Warren says

I have the regular k’tan and it felt like I had another shirt on, so I haven’t used it much. I like the breathable fabric on this one.

  5. Kristi says

I love how the fabric looks breathable on hot summer days and there’s minimal fabric so heat it’s cooler than a traditional wrap.

  6. Sara D. says

Wow! I wasn’t really sure what the baby k’tan was all about but it looks like a great alternative to a traditional wrap!

  7. heather says

I love my baby k’tan breeze I have the white we don’t leave home without it. It is so much easier than the moby

  8. says

This looks neat! I also didn’t bring my wrap out in public much because it was tough to wrap myself up in the parking lot with an infant crying to get out of her car seat! Plus, it was pretty warm to wear all the time in Virginia. I’d like this lighter version!

  9. Ashley C. says

This is my number one choice for a wrap/sling type carrier! I live in Texas so the k’tan breeze is a must! I love how easy it looks, just two loops… instead of wrapping myself and little one with yards of fabric!

  10. Heather R says

This looks like it’s so much easier to use than a traditional wrap. I loved the concept of my Moby during the newborn stage, but getting it wrapped exactly right (and keeping it that way) was really frustrating.

  11. Beth R says

This looks like a great carrier for the summer!! Definitely something you need for those hot summer months. I love the extra storage sash too

  12. LucieS says

We start fertility treatments next month so I will be having a summer baby if everything goes right (crossed fingers) A mesh carrier would be a life saver :)

  13. caitlin chapman says

this looks awesome! ive always wanted a wrap but with a little boy the “wrapping” makes him impatient. this would be SOOOOOOO helpful!

  14. Jourdan says

i have been sooo wanting to try a wrap, but didnt think i would like the “hassle” of wrapping…i didnt know about this!! i may have to try it out!

  15. Melissa Shoaf says

This looks like a great babywearing option! I had never heard of it, so thanks for bringing it to my attention!

  16. Julie Ghrist says

I love this… I really like the idea of wraps but they freak me out. I am not sure i will be able to figure it out and I have watched people take forever to get the on and adjusted correctly. This seems like a really great and easy alternative… I would love to try it!

  17. Cathie Shane says

This looks so much more convenient than a traditional wrap. I also like the fact that is mesh material to make it cooler to wear.

  18. says

such a great idea- i loved my moby wrap too but had the same problem with getting it on ‘on the go’.. it was so long that it would drag on the ground in the parking lot when i was trying to put it on.. but other than that i loved it!! :) i love that it is mesh and cotton.. a great summertime option! and the sash that doubles as a carrier carrier (tee-hee) is a great feature as well!

  19. Elizabeth P. says

The K’tan looks super comfy! I love that it’s light and made out of mesh as well, looks like it would keep you and baby cool!

  20. Rebecca Wood says

She looks so comfy in that carrier! I love that it’s 50% mesh, since I live in the south where it gets sooooo hot in the summertime. It seems like a really great carrier!

  21. Kimberly says

I would love to try this! My Moby wrap is so comfortable, but I’ve never gotten the hang of wrapping it just right.

  22. Heidi says

Would be so great for places like the parking lot so it doesn’t get dirty from touching the ground while wrapping. I also love how the mesh material is great for the summer.

  23. Olivia L says

Baby #2 is due in a couple of weeks, and I like the idea of using this lighter material in the summer heat!

  24. Krystal says

I love the mesh! My wrap has been wonderful, but I haven’t worn it much this summer because it is just so hot.

  25. twinsincloth says

What I like best about this wrap is that it doesn’t have long tails trailing to the ground. When putting a wrap on in a public place, or adjusting one, you usually have the ends on the ground.

  26. Bekah Kuczenski says

I would love to try this Carrier, I love that it is a ready to wear wrap. Wraps look so intimidating, so I love that I can have a wrap without wrapping…

  27. Crystal Litz says

I love the feel of my Moby carrier when it is on but it is really cumbersome in public & especially on hot days, the mesh & no actual wrappin would be great.

  28. Nikole H. says

The mesh seems like such a great idea! And I love that it is ‘pre-wrapped’ :) I have a Moby on loan from a friend that I’ve yet to try because I haven’t figured out how to wrap it yet ;)

  29. Ashley B says

I looooove my K’tan, it was a life saver, one of my twins insisted on being worn most of the time and I could get the thing on quick, unlike my wrap. I’d love to give the breeze a try, it looks so comfy!

  30. Angela Landry says

This would have been great when mine was smaller he got so hot next to me and was a big baby (10lbs9oz at birth) I could still use it now though it looks comfy.

  31. elizabeth casto says

i’ve actually heard some rave reviews on these. I have several different carriers on my registry. I’d be happy to give any of them (this being one) a try

  32. Ami Williamson says

Wow! That is so neat. I could actually see the mesh in the very first picture before I read the review and thought about how much cooler it would be. :)

  33. Brianna W. says

I love my Baby K’Tan Breeze! I bought a regular one when my first daughter was born. When my second little girl was born, I wore her all the time in my old K’Tan, but this summer I broke down and bought a Breeze because it was just to hot under the other one. I love the Breeze! Can’t imagine grocery shopping with a 3 year old and 8 month old without it!

  34. Amie says

I have never tried a K’tan, but it looks very comfortable and simple to use. I would love to try one with our little one on the way!

  35. Samantha Herrmann says

The mesh looks like it would breathe so nicely! I get hot easily, so that would be a good thing to have!

  36. judi says

I am a beginner wrapper and the K’tan looks like a great option for when baby has to pop in and out while running errands.

  37. Richelle says

Too bad I didn’t know about these carriers before I bought my Beco. Here I thought I’d look like a fool trying to use a sling. Probably right. Should got me one of these bad boys! I still should. Thanks for the awesome review.

  38. Megan Smith says

I am really interested in this wrap, especially because there is no actual wrapping involved! My Moby Wrap is wonderful, but definitely not ideal for taking on and off a few times.

  39. Callie says

Love my k’tan. It makes grocery shopping with a 2 1/2 year old and a 3 month old so much easier. Wish I had it with my first.

    • says

I was surprised that it was pretty comfortable. I’ll probably stick to a soft structured carrier most of the time, but I would have LOVED to have this when my girls were babies! So great for hot weather.

  40. Michelle M says

I tried so many different carriers and wasn’t happy. I noticed another mom with this nifty looking carrier and asked her about it. She told me about Baby k’tan and I ordered one. I love it. It’s comfortable, it works great and my daughter loves it.

  41. Rachel N says

I would have loved this, such a great idea. I had a moby wrap when my little guy was a baby last year but it got sooooooo hot!

  42. Jessica K says

This looks like such a great carrier. I got one and my 18 mo refuses to get in it so I can’t even try it our until baby #2 comes around :(

  43. suzanne says

I LOVE that the K’Tan comes in mesh now! We love our K’Tan while our babies are little but it can definitely be warm in the summer.

  44. Renea Pike says

I used to hate wraps, because I was never good at the actual wrapping, I’d be willing to try this one though!

  45. Heather says

I really want a K’tan, but I’m hesitant about what size to get — by the chart it looks like I’d be a small, but that seems so small — and I’m eight months pregnant, not sure if trying on would be tell me anything at this point. Guess I will either have to wait or buy at a store with a decent return policy just in case!!

  46. Danialle Birdwell says

A mesh carrier was an awesome idea! I could definitely put one of these to use here in Texas. It gets so hot! And the particular area where I live is also humid, so the breathy material would be a life saver.

  47. Amanda Alvarado says

This would be perfect for our hot South Texas year round heat! I love that you can personalize them now!

  48. hannah K says

I really like that you don’t have to wrap it yourself everytime – that was one thing about wraps Ive hesitated about.

  49. Nicole U says

I love the lightweight material option for when it is hot. Also, I like that you don’t have to have a huge piece of fabric to wrap around baby and mommy.

  50. Dawn says

This carrier looks like its going to be the best choice for our family! We have a 20mo old and I am 25+wks pregnat with baby #5:) My husband tried it on with our daughter at our hospital tour and said it felt great! Since he has to go right back to work when our daughter comes home, we are thinking this product will truely help mommy in everyday life:)

  51. Ali Peterson says

I have been dying to try out the Baby K’tan. I like that you don’t have to learn quite as much as you would with a traditional wrap.

  52. Emily Vetter says

I think we are going to try this one for our baby girl we are expecting in November. I’ll definitely look for the mesh style!

  53. Kelsey says

This looks so comfortable and I have also wondered how anyone could accomplish wrapping in a public place like a parking lot. Great idea!

  54. Jaimie Adams says

I love that this particular one has breatheable fabric! What a great design to help with these hot summer days!

  55. Michelle Ferguson says

I had a K’Tan when my babies were tiny and I really loved it! It was very easy to get on and get baby in and very comfortable!

  56. Becca says

Great idea but it still seems like a lot of steps. And I also wonder if the mesh is strong enough (but if it is, great idea to keep cool!)

  57. Tasha says

I’ve only ever used a sling and a homemade carrier. This looks awesome! My homemade carrier is kind of in the style of the K’tan, and it is ridiculously easy to use. =) Yay for baby wearing!

  58. Addison Kat says

I like the idea that you don’t have to re-wrap all the time. However, I’m concerned about the stretching. I like that I can tighten if needed with my other wrap.

  59. Lisa Kuhl says

I love that it is ready to wear. I found with wraps that most of them are way too big for me. (I’m tiny!) This would be great for us.

  60. Marianne says

Oh man, I think I’m the only one lost. I kinda get it, but I can’t really invision how it works with the 2 loops and the support band. Are there any youtube videos of people putting it on?

Wraps terrify me, I thought this might be an alternative, but eek — I just don’t get it :)

  61. ashley r says

I have not tried this carrier but it looks pretty cool and good for this summer hot weather we are having.

  62. Ashley C says

This looks so wonderful for out and about! I HATE wrapping my moby in public. its impossible to do without it touching the floor which is just gross!

  63. Lynn B says

I’m looking for a carrier to wear while hiking in SoCal mountains (where it is always warm to hot!) and this sounds ideal. It sounds like it will really breathe which would be a necessity for me!

  64. Nicole S says

This looks much less confusing than some other wraps that are just one long piece of fabric. I think I could manage this one!

  65. VJ M. says

I like how the fabric is breathable. I may be a bit nervous to hold a toddler in it since it is mesh. I wouldn’t want to have to use a hand to hold on the bottom.

  66. Priscilla Benavides says

This carrier seems very durable and of good quality, I also love the color black because you can’t see stains and because it is a neutral color for a baby boy or baby girl.
