kombucha-wineNow that the hot summer days are here, it’s nice to have a refreshing “adult” beverage while sitting on the front porch and enjoying the long days. Since I no longer drink beer (since going gluten free), I’ve had to alter my habits.

These days, I almost exclusively drink wine. Sometimes I like to tone the alcohol content down a bit. I used to make white wine spritzers (half wine, half Sprite or other soda), but since I avoid soda now, I’ve had to think of alternatives.

Since I brew a lot of Kombucha, I decided to try mixing white wine with Kombucha to see how it would taste. I have to say, it’s my new favorite “adult” summer beverage (followed closely by my homemade sangria).

To make your own, mix half Kombucha (I like strawberry/blueberry, but you can use many Kombucha recipes) with half white wine (I use Pinto Grigio or Chardonnay – I’m not a big sweet wine fan). Adjust to your tastes and enjoy!
