My girls absolutely love arts and crafts. They’re all about anything they can get their hands dirty with while being creative. So when I pulled out the Kelly Kit the other day I got quite the excited reaction!
Kelly Kits offers an all-inclusive art play curriculum for kids from 2 to 102. All of their art play activities focus on simple art techniques like painting, sculpting, drawing, printmaking and collage. They also include enrichment ideas to help add an educational aspect to the art play, making it more engaging for older kids.
The Kelly Kits are available through a monthly subscription that is only $9.99 – including shipping and handling!
Watch Kelly Hanson, creator of Kelly Kit explain the importance of art play in this video.
We got to try July’s Kelly Kit, which was a printmaking activity called Sponge and Stamp. This kit features a very cool artist’s medium – compressed cellulose paper. It can be drawn on and cut into intricate designs before water and paints are applied to expand it into a printing tool. At first, I thought it was just small pieces of paper. After we cut out the shapes and put them in water, I was surprised that they turned into sponges!
It was a really simple, but fun activitity for the girls. I tried to allow them to draw their own shapes, but I ended up just cutting out a bunch of different shapes for them.
I don’t know what it is, but they love paint – probably because I don’t allow them to play with paint independently. We mixed the paint powder with water, and they set to work making their creations. I think this activity would be more fun if it had at least 2 different colors of paint, but the girls had a blast creating nonetheless.
I love how affordable the kits are, so we’re going to consider a subscription. With the time it would take me to pull all of the materials together for each project you get every month, Kelly Kits are worth $9.99!
Upcoming Giveaway
One Happy Mothering reader will win an Annual Subscription of Monthly Kelly Kits (a $99.90 value) during the Keeping Kids Creative Giveaway Hop, which begins on September 17. In the meantime, be sure to connect with Kelly Kits on Facebook and Twitter.

My mom gave me a Groupon for 3 Kelly Kits for my son. They asked me for a credit card for “shipping purposes only.” They have continued to charge my credit card $9.99 per month even though I have called and asked them to stop.
I persoanlly would not recommend Kelly Kits.
I’m sorry to hear you had a bad experience Amy.
Agree completely, they have done the same to me!
I see others also had a bad experience with Kelly Kits, here is my story –
What they offer at Kelly Kits is worst customer service – I purchased a 3 months subscription only from them for my children. This company however has a “feature” of automatic subscription renewal – so after 3 months they charged for subscription renewal without letting me know!!! Even more when I signed up originally I made it clear in my emails to their customer service – I don’t want any further subscription after 3 months period. It took me writing few angry emails to them and call to my bank to initiate the investigation of unauthorized charges to my credit card by Kelly Kits! Would not recommend this company to anyone after this, not only because of their “way of doing business” – but also because honestly my kids told after they did not like the quality of those craft kits, called it boring.
