Apple cider vinegar is such a versatile tool in our home! We use it in the kitchen, in the bathroom, in DIY projects, with our chickens and more!

Vinegar has many uses, and my cabinet is always stocked with a variety of different types of vinegar. I love apple cider vinegar for many reasons. And if you’re curious, you can read what I wrote about what vinegar is made of.

The area of my house were I use apple cider vinegar most often is my kitchen. It’s pretty awesome that it can be used for both cooking and cleaning. It can also be used in personal care products (like DIY Hair Rinse and DIY Face Toner) and we even add it to our chickens’ water!

If you haven’t used apple cider vinegar before, there are two varieties. Your basic apple cider vinegar and unfiltered apple cider vinegar, which is raw, unpasteurized and contains the “mother” (the culture used to make apple cider vinegar) in it.

Either variety can be used in salads, marinades and other recipes. They have a slightly different flavor, so you can choose the variety that will work best for that particular recipe.

If the recipe will be heated, I typically use the basic version, but I like to use the unfiltered variety for any recipes that don’t require heating.

I’m going to share 4 recipes to help you get started using apple cider vinegar in your kitchen.

1. Honey & Apple Cider Vinaigrette Salad Dressing

ACV-Vinaigrette

During the summer, I love a good salad – especially with homemade salad dressing. While ranch dressing is my favorite, this one is simple, quick and tasty.

During the summer, I love a good salad. But I can’t stand the toxic ingredients in most store bought salad dressings, so I prefer to make my own. This one is simple, quick and tasty.

2. Apple Cider Vinegar Cleaning Spray

I like to make my own cleaning products too. My favorite vinegar-based cleaner is this citrus infused vinegar, but if you want something a bit quicker that works just as well, you can use apple cider vinegar instead.

While I love dill pickles, the girls prefer sweet pickles. This is an easy recipe to use if you want to whip up a quick batch as a special treat.
