One of the few areas of our lives where we live a completely non-eco-friendly lifestyle is with our diapering habits. When I was pregnant with Zoë, I really wanted to cloth diaper, but Brian refused so we settled on happy medium – Nature BabyCare biodegradable diapers.
We used them almost exclusively until we moved to Uruguay. Then we went back to traditional disposable diapers because that’s all that is available there. When we moved back to the US, we continued the bad habit of using Huggies.
I was recently asked to review a brand of disposable diapers that was just introduced in the US – Bambo Nature Baby Diapers.
- Certified free of dangerous chemicals and all known allergens
- Totally eco-friendly, considered the “greenest” disposable in Europe
- 75% biodegradable (vs 35% biodegradable in conventional disposables)
- Ultra absorbent, incredibly soft
I typically post ingredients, but Bambo Nature does a much better job of explaining the ingredients on their website than I’d do here so make sure to check those out. They definitely looked better than the Huggies we’ve been using, so I decided to give them a try.
Overall, we really like them. They are very absorbent. Kaylee didn’t have a single leak going through the whole package (she pees through a Pull Up almost every day), so we were very happy with that. They are a little bulkier than Huggies and it took me a minute to get used to that, but that’s a fair trade-off.
They are soft and Kaylee seems to be comfortable wearing them. We ran out of Huggies, so I actually just went ahead and ordered a 3-pack of Bamboo Nature diapers from Amazon, so that should say something about how much we did end up liking them! Hopefully Kaylee will be potty trained by the time we make it through these diapers. Now if only I could find a better disposable wipe!
So, if you’re like me and use disposable diapers, but want something that’s more eco-friendly, check out Bamboo Nature.
