Rachel’s Background
Rachel has a degree in Human Development and an Elementary Teaching certificate, which is why she went into teaching (her husband is a 5th grade teacher as well). A mother of one 3-year old daughter, she found her skills and passions naturally aligning with parenting and babywearing, and decided to leave teaching to take on a business focused on babywearing.
She spent her first 2 years at home with her daughter, Jane, and when she went back to work, she missed being at home. As many of us experience, she wanted more time at home with her daughter, and more peace. The stress of getting 3 people out the door every morning made everyone in the house miserable, and she felt like it was unfair her family.
She had known Jane McClintock, a local mom and previous owner of QuirkyBaby, since she had chosen a carrier from her home office when HER Jane was only 2-weeks old. They became friends over time, and Rachel took over Jane’s babywearing group when she went back to work full-time as a lawyer. Eventually, Jane decided to sell her business and Rachel decided to try her hand at something completely new – her own babywearing business.

I love that there is a try before you buy program. I think this is incredibly important for first time babywearers who don’t have a group nearby to allow them to try out carriers. Everybody likes different things for different reasons and having options really makes a huge difference!

That’s awesome that Rachel took over Jane’s business, it was like it was meant to be, because Rachel had a “why”. To stay home and be with her children, and her skills and passion connected to parenting and babywearing. And especially the business being related to moms and their children. She can reach out to other moms. Quirkbaby sounds like it has a great policy too. I’m glad another mom found a passion related to parenting.

I love Kozy carriers, my first Mei Tai was a Kozy and I miss it

I love how high the carrier body is. It looks like it has a structure that bows out the top like a nursing cover.

The high back is a brilliant idea; my carrier has a limited lifespan because it doesn’t have one!
The mei Tai looks great i would love to try it if i ever get the chance I love carrying my daughter Genesis Rose all the time it is great having her close to my beating heart that she knows so well from being in my tummy and being able to bond and breast feed her on demand and to still be able to do dishes and house work like a good stay at home mommy i would love to try the mei tai carrier someday if i got the chance and im sure both my daughter and i would love it
I love supporting fellow mom’s, so this is really awesome! And I love that you can try first. With my son (now 5), I purchased a sling and was so excited…but found that it really wasn’t my preferred baby carrier…at all. And I’d wasted that money that could have gone to a carrier we’d have preffered, so that’s really an awesome feature! We have really only tried slings and wraps in the past, but this looks like an awesome carrier and I’d love to try one!!

I have a Mei Tai that I made and I love it. it is the quickest and easiest carrier I have. so comfy and cozy. perfect for quick trips into the store and such.
