natracare-logo“Our daughters need to know… tampon & sanitary pad products don’t list their ingredients!”

When I go grocery shopping, I always read ingredient labels. I read labels on my cosmetics, my lotions, my hair products and more. Why should it be any different for my sanitary products? I guess my question should be, “Why aren’t ingredients listed on these products?” They are made up of multiple materials and my guess is that they are not all natural ones. Most of these products contain bleach residuals, plastics and synthetics.  These materials can lead to skin irritation, itching, swelling and burning. Even if you don’t have immediate symptoms, it doesn’t mean that the plastics and chemicals are not leaching into your skin.

Natracare is here to save the day! They have provided a healthier option among women’s sanitary products. They have created a line of 100% organic, GMO-free cotton tampons and pads. Natracare is committed to only using organic and natural ingredients in their products, making them biodegradable and compostable. Along with pads and tampons, they produce baby wipes and intimate wipes.

I was sent a their baby wipes, intimate wipes and tampons to review.

Natracare Baby WipesThe baby wipes are made with organic cotton, organic apricot oil, chamomile and linden. There are no Parabens, SLS, alcohol, synthetic preservatives or chlorine found in them. The wipes are soft and multifunctional. I don’t have a baby, but I use baby wipes to clean up messes and my kid’s faces. They are great to have on the go and in the car.

Natracare Intimate Wipes

The Intimate Wipes can be used after intimacy. They are made with organic cotton, organic rose, calendula and chamomile. The wipes smell sweet and leave you feeling clean. These wipes are also nice to have around while you are on your period. They are soft, yet strong, and don’t contain any harmful ingredients.

Natracare Regular Applicator Tampons

The Tampons are made with 100% organic cotton. They are perfume and chlorine free. I have never been a big fan of tampons; I prefer pads. I do use tampons if I am going swimming or if I run out of pads. During my last cycle, I tried Natracare’s tampons and I liked how easy they were to use. They are smooth and easy to insert. I didn’t feel like I was trying to insert cardboard. The tampon worked well in my opinion. I couldn’t even tell I was wearing it! I felt good knowing that my body wasn’t being exposed to harmful chemicals.

They also have panty liners and pads. I would love to try these out and I will look for them on my next shopping trip. You can check your local health store to see if they carry Natracare products. I know my local Whole Foods carries their line. And Amazon has a Natracare store.

I used Natracare for my postpartum needs after both my kids. I normally use a menstrual cup, and was very glad to have a better alternative to traditional postpartum pads.
