diamond-nexusHave you seen the movie Blood Diamond? That movie really changed the way I look at diamonds.

Don’t get me wrong. I love my engagement ring and I think diamonds are beautiful, but I want to feel good about how my purchasing decisions impact the Earth and the people living on it.

I have always wanted a pair of diamond earrings but, knowing what I know about how diamonds are mined now, I set that wish aside. Then I was introduced to Diamond Nexus.

Diamond Nexus makes lab created diamonds that look just like the real thing. Only since they’re created in a lab, Mother Nature is never disturbed and child soldiers aren’t involved in their mining.

So, I was thrilled when Diamond Nexus offered to send me a pair of their Mia earrings to review. These bezel-set Round Brilliant diamond simulant drop earrings are so pretty and elegant! I love how they go with everything and they came in a very nice gift box.

mia-e2They have a total weight of 2.11 carats, with the center stone of each earring being 1.03 carats with 5 Round Brilliant cut diamond simulant accents. They have fishhook style wires so they are easy to put on and comfortable to wear.

I wore them for the first time when we went to Vegas a few weeks ago and Brian commented how real they look. They’re super sparkly and really do look like the real thing, even compared next to my engagement ring.

Next, I’d love to have a pair of simulated diamond studs!

Win a Pair!

roundcutstuds-tb-basketset-e1_2You’re in luck! One Happy Mothering reader will win a pair of Diamond Nexus round cut studs with a total weight of 1.68 carats (0.84 carats each)! This pair has a 14K White Gold basket setting, bend-resistant notched posts and tension backs. They are valued at $245!

Enter via the Rafflecopter form below. US entries only. Must be 18 years or older to win. Good luck!
