I finally got my walking boot off last Friday! It had been just shy of 10 weeks since I shattered my big toe, so I was going a little stir crazy to say the least. I never realized it would be so mentally and emotionally challenging not to be able to do things I take for granted – like walking and exercising.
Now that the boot is off, I can finally get back to working on my fitness levels. I have to take it easy and work my way back into things at a slow and steady pace so I don’t re-injure myself, but I’m excited to get my body moving again.

I have tried my best to get to the yoga studio for classes over the last few years, but it’s just so hard to find the time with my busy schedule. And now that winter is upon us, it will become even more challenging, and even harder to get the motivation.
So, I decided to start doing yoga at home instead. I’ve taken a ton of classes over the years, so I understand form (even though my form isn’t so great anymore) and don’t necessarily need a live instructor.

My girls are just as excited as I am to start practicing yoga. They love the time with mommy to slow down and give our bodies and minds what they need through our yoga practice. It’s a great mother-daughter bonding activity, and since we homeschool it counts as physical education time!
