Preparing for Winter with Bogs Footwear

While we still have no snow on the ground – even though we live in a mountain resort town – we’re in the midst of preparing for winter. (UPDATE: It’s snowing right now!)

What that means in our house is getting the firewood ready, making sure any drafts are covered, making sure we have plenty of food on hand and pulling out the winter clothing.

This year both of the girls needed new snow boots, so we were excited to receive a pair for each of them from Bogs Footwear. Both girls got a pair of the McKinley boots, the warmest boots offered by Bogs. Of course Zoë got purple and Kaylee got pink.

I think the purple may be last year’s style because they’re rated down to -30° F and the pink ones are rated down to -40° F. Either way, that’s an amazing rating for a pair of kids snow boots!

Whenever I get Zoë new shoes, she does not want to put them on. She has really sensitive feet and will only wear seamless socks and is very particular about shoes. It took me a minute to talk her into trying them on, but when she did, she couldn’t stop telling me how comfortable they were! That is amazing for us!

Kaylee also loves them and started running and jumping around the house as soon as she put them on. You have to test them out, right?

I’m really happy that both of the girls love the boots.

They are also very well made. I love that they are 100% waterproof with 7 mm of Neo-Tech insulation because there’s nothing worse that having wet feet when it’s cold.

They are made with 200 grams of Thinsulate and are lined with fleece to make them warm and comfortable. And the insole has Aegis antimicrobial odor protection to keep them smelling fresh.

The boots also have a snow cuff with bungee closure to keep the snow out when they girls are playing, which is an awesome feature for us. I’m super excited for the first real snow to come so they girls can test them out for real!
