If Only I’d Thought of That First…

Ever since I became a mom, I keep coming up with clever ideas for things that would make my life easier as a mom. If only they were unique ideas…

It seems like every time I think of a new invention that would help moms around the globe, I go home and Google it. And guess what, someone else thought of it first.

Ugh.

The first time was last year while we were shopping. I looked over to my husband and said, “If only someone made hooks you could attach to your stroller to carry your shopping bags.” Great idea, right?

I was in Babies R Us a couple weeks later and saw that someone else beat me to the punch.

Meet The Mommy Hook.

I now own two – one for each side of the stroller – and love them.

A couple months later when Zoë was teething, I thought, “Wouldn’t it be great if there was a teether that was shaped just like a pacifier, but you could put in the freezer?” Zoë is a binkie junkie and that would be just perfect for her.

So, online I went. It didn’t take long before I realized that someone had the same idea as me, only first.

Meet the Razbaby RaZberry Teether.

We picked up a couple from Amazon and Zoë really liked chewing on them. Actually, I should probably consider picking up a few more for when Kaylee is born.

If she’s anything like her sister, she’ll be teething early (Zoë started teething at one month and had her first tooth at four months).

I’m sure I’ll have many more of these ideas in the future. But, it just goes to show you that most of us moms have many of the same needs.

Have you had something like this happen to you?
