Did you know indoor air can be 5 times more polluted than outdoor air? See how to make a simple to follow plan to improve indoor air quality & your health!
Air quality is something I’m pretty fanatic about. Many people (especially in urban areas), look out of their windows and see the smog. It’s an ominous sight, but did you know indoor air quality can be up to five times more polluted than outdoor air? Pretty crazy, right?
That’s why it’s super important for us to address indoor air quality. It’s so important for our family’s health!
We can follow a real food diet, exercise regularly and generally live a healthy lifestyle. But if we’re not looking at the air in our home, we’re doing ourselves a huge disservice!
A few years ago, I put together a list of things you can do to improve indoor air quality. Even if you took some of those actions, how do you know if what you’re doing is working?
So much of what is toxic in our homes – like allergens and toxic dust – is invisible to the naked eye. To know if your efforts are working, you need some way to “see” what is actually going on in your home.
Using a Healthy Home Monitor, HomeLab takes your home’s vitals every 5 minutes to identify key toxin and pollutant trends. They provide up to date readings of particulate matter (PM2.5), Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) and humidity – the key toxins and pollutants that have been shown to impact health.
Don’t worry though. You won’t be all on your own trying to understand what all of the information means! HomeLab will help you put together a plan on how to improve the indoor air quality in your home.
The Healthy Home Monitor will collect data from the air in your home for 10 days. After that, you’ll be able to access the information you need from the HomeLab App, which you can download to your Android or Apple phone.
You even get to consult with a Home Doctor so you can go over everything in your home that may be causing indoor air pollution.
They help you sift through many of the things I write about, like choosing the safest cosmetics, furniture, cleaning products and anything else that may be affecting air quality. They even understand the physical nature or your home, and how that may be affecting the health of your indoor air.
Between the data from the Healthy Home Monitor and your consultation with the Home Doctor, you’ll receive a customized plan to clean up the air in your home. To see your recommendations, you’d access “Your Plan” from the HomeLab app.
As you’re making changes in your home to improve indoor air quality, you can monitor the air in your home to see how it’s changing. You can visibly see how your changes are improving the health of your home!
You’ll also be able to see notifications when a spike happens and record any activities that occur at that time, if you know what they are. That way you can see what activities are causing spikes in poor air quality.
HomeLab is the simplest way to understand what’s going on with the air quality in your home. If anyone in your house suffers from allergies, asthma or any ailments, I highly recommend checking them out.
The HomeLab service is affordable, with two options depending upon your needs. For one low annual fee of $139 (less than $12 per month), you get the Healthy Home Monitor and all of the information you need to improve the indoor air quality in your home.
Also, be sure to go download their free eBook now. It’ll give you some tips on how to improve your home’s air quality now. That way when you’re ready to get started with HomeLab, you’ll already be started down the right path.
