We have been huge fans of LeapFrog products forever. Even before I had kids, I was buying them for my niece. They have always been at the top of my list for interactive educational toys.
Both girls have LeapPads (although Santa did bring them big girl tablets for Christmas), and an abundance of other LeapFrog toys. Knowing how much they love their other LeapFrog products, they were thrilled when the new LeapTV gaming system showed up on our doorstep.
They could hardly wait to get the LeapTV set up. There has been a lot of illness circulating around town for the past few months, so it took us a while to get it set up, but once they did, the girls were pretty excited about it. We got it set up while they had a friend over for a playdate, and it was really fun to see how it brought them together. I love when educational products can do that.
Unlike many gaming system, LeapTV gets kids on their feet, which is so important when they sit in class all day. The games uses a motion-sensing camera and controller that fits small hands.
The games teach core skills across a variety of subjects including reading, mathematics, science and problem solving. I like how they make learning these subjects fun! We have four games so far, and I know we’ll be adding more to our collection as time goes on. There are supposed to be 100+ LeapFrog educator-approved games and videos available by year-end!
I love that the games adapt to each child’s level. Each game starts with the most basic skills, and then automatically adjusts the learning for the perfect challenge for that child.
LeapTV is designed for kids ages 3-8. Audio instruction makes it simple for even the youngest kids to play solo or with a friend!
