I have always hated flossing. My gums bleed and swell. And they’re just painful for a couple days afterwards. I am very lucky that I do not have cavity-prone teeth, because I rarely floss.
So when WaterPik contacted me and said they had a way for me to floss without the pain – I was on board!
Here are a few of the benefits that really drew me in:
- Clinically proven 50% more effective than traditional dental floss and 80% more effective than Sonicare Air Floss for gingivitis treatment
- Proven in laboratory tests to remove 99.9% of plaque from treated areas with a 3 second application
- Removes bacteria deep between teeth and below the gumline where brushing and traditional flossing can’t reach
- Massages and stimulates gums to improve circulation and keep your gums strong and healthy
Healthy gums and teeth are strongly tied to an overall healthy body, so I was all about getting some of these benefits!
I received a WaterPik Ultra Water Flosser to try out. It comes with 6 different tips you can use:
- Classic Jet Tip
- Plaque Seeker Tip
- Orthodontic Tip
- Pik Pocket Tips
- Toothbrush Tip
- Tongue Cleaner
I still haven’t tried them all. I started with the Classic Jet Tip to get familiar with the system and see how it works. I used it after eating lunch to see if it would get all of the food out of my teeth.
I started out on the lowest setting since I know I have relatively sensitive gums. When I was moving it along my gumline and between my teeth I was thinking that it didn’t feel like it was doing anything at all. I barely felt the stream of water – zero pain involved.
However, when I was done, my teeth felt squeaky clean! I was very impressed with how well it worked. Of course Zoë and Kaylee wanted to try it so I let them for a few seconds each. They both giggled and said it tickled.
I’m looking forward to trying out the rest of the tips over the next couple weeks so I can discover all that my WaterPik Ultra Water Flosser can do to keep my mouth clean and healthy!
If you hate flossing as much as I did and want to try out the WaterPik Ulta Water Flosser, you can purchase it on Amazon.com.
