I had an absolutely great time sitting down with Kiran from Easy Real Food and discussing her blog in this video business consultation. This was supposed to be a 90-minute phone call and it turned out to be over 2 hours. We covered so much ground and had a blast doing it.
Kiran is truly dedicated to putting out amazing information and enjoys what’s she’s doing. She’s passionate about what she’s doing and about putting out the absolute best content she can. She’s eager to learn ways to improve. And she’s excited to implement and try out new ideas to help grow her business. Kiran has the recipe for a winning attitude that will allow her blog to grow into something amazing.
I can’t express how important it is to enjoy what you’re doing and to have a great attitude about it. When you enjoy creating the recipes… and writing the posts…. and doing the marketing… and doing the business end… and engaging with your social media followers… it will make all of the difference in the world to the type of success you will have.
I truly believe happiness is a choice. Even if what you’re doing isn’t your favorite thing to do in the world, you have a choice to be happy and grateful or not to be. And yes… I believe it’s that easy to have control of your attitude.
In this consultation, Kiran walked away with around 29 actionable steps she can immediately take action with. I’m so super stoked to share this with all of you.
This is a very long consultation, so I broke it up into 4 sections to make them easier to watch and refer back to.
Resources for Bloggers
Here are a few of the resources I gave to Kiran through our conversation. I hope they help you out as well.
Chrystal is amazing at Pinterest. She crushes. When she wrote this Strategy Guide a couple of weeks ago our reach on Pinterest was at 6.9 Million. Since then it’s bounced as high as 7.6 Million and dipped as low as 4.9 Million. Chrystal updates our guide every few weeks to share what’s working for us.
I can’t stress how important it is for you to use and run Facebook ads back to your blog. It’s a daunting and scary task though, because if you are like most who have tried to use Facebook ads you have failed. That’s okay. Facebook has put out an amazing course that teaches you step by step how to use Facebook ads and it’s 100% FREE. Go check out Facebook Blueprint here.
Inspire Vendor Center
If you have an educational product like Kiran does, getting it approved for use in a Charter School is one way to really reach the masses with it. Inspire Charter School is the Charter School we use here in California for our girls and this is their Vendor Center to apply to be a vendor.
Google Search Engine Optimization Guide (SEO Guide)
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is extremely important. One of the best free resources for SEO is Google’s Free Search Engine Optimization Guide. It’s such a great starting point.
The Business of Blogging
If anyone wants to make a consistent reliable income from blogging it must be treated like a business. Yes, there are a few exceptions to the rule and a blind squirrel will find a nut here and there too.
Writing out a business plan is super important. And don’t make it complicated… just think of it as “laying out a path of actions” to create a way for you to get what you want.
Blogging for a living is a lot of work. There are many facets to blogging as a profession that people who don’t blog would never think about. Marketing, public relations, search engine optimization, ad placement, site speed, site security, plugins, applications, site maps, redirects, hooks and so much more.
Learn about every aspect and try your best to put out the best quality content you can. And if you can edit your content to make it better, go back and do it. Your readers will appreciate updated content.
Blogging isn’t for everyone… but for those who are down and blogging is their jam… it’s an exhilarating ride and extremely rewarding.
