I love when more local fruit starts to come into season. We always load up on tons of fruit and eat it as snacks throughout the day. My girls are definitely fruit monsters! I'm not even sure how they fit so much into their little tummies!
I can't wait until our local Farmer's Market starts back up in April (it only runs 6 months of the year, which is a huge challenge). There is one stand that has the most amazing berries. The farmers don't use pesticides and their prices are reasonable compared to the organic berry prices at our local grocery store.
Since we're in California, we can also get great prices on ripe, delicious oranges at the Farmer's Market as well as peaches, nectarines and lots of other delicious treats. I love our weekly trips to the Farmer's Market.
As soon as it starts back up, I'll definitely be making these Fresh Fruit Cups as a treat for the girls (and us adults too!). The bright colors making eating healthy fun, even for picky eaters!
Making these cute fruit cups is very simple.
Start by cutting an orange in half, and then hollowing it out with a spoon or scoop. You can squeeze the juice out first as well.
Next chop up your favorite fruits into small, bite size pieces.
Place the chopped fruit into the orange cups.
Serve the cups on a fun plate and your kids will have a blast eating these healthy treats! You even can mix it up by topping them with a little homemade whipped cream.
