We take a lot of road trips. We live 3 hours from San Diego, 3 hours from Vegas, 3 hours from Los Angeles and about 2 hours from Orange County – so we have a lot of great places to visit with a short car ride.
Over the last few years, we have made short road trips to these areas a way of life. On top of that, my husband is constantly traveling to music festivals and on tours with various bands.
During all of these road trips, I would be lying if I said there wasn’t always something that we forget. Toothbrushes and toothpaste are probably the most common ones since I don’t pack those until the last minute (although one time I completely forgot shoes for the girls – that was a big oops). I can’t tell you how many times I’ve had to stop to pick those items up at our destination!
The girls usually aren’t happy when they realize that Mommy forgot to pack their things!
I typically make most of our personal care products, or order specialty products online. By the time we get to our destination I’m usually exhausted and don’t want to go in search of a small health food store when I’m in an unknown area. So I definitely need a brand I can pick up most anywhere that is more on the natural side when I goof up in packing.
Our go to in these situations is Tom’s of Maine. I can’t tell you how many times Tom’s of Maine toothpaste or deodorant has landed in our bathroom because we picked it up during our travels. I love that you can find it just about anywhere.
The ingredients aren’t perfect, but they’re the best you’re going to find at major retailers. Tom’s of Maine natural personal care and oral care products are made with no artificial colors, flavors, fragrances, or preservatives – so they’re much better than what you’ll typically find on the shelves.
And the girls, especially Kaylee, love the specialty kids flavors.
You can even find them at Walmart! We forgot our toothpaste yet again on one of our road trips and we popped into Walmart and grabbed the girls a tube of Silly Strawberry™ Toothpaste and I grabbed myself a tube of Whole Care® Peppermint and Spearmint Toothpaste. I normally get the Antiplaque & Whitening Peppermint Fluoride Free Toothpaste, but they didn’t carry it at this location.
Super convenient, super easy to find and affordable too. You’ll be able to happily brush your teeth in no time.
Next time you forget your personal care products on a trip, consider Tom’s of Maine. If you haven’t made the switch to natural products yet, Earth Month is a great time to take the next step!
