I quickly fell in love with it and wouldn’t trade it for anything. It is actually one of my favorite, must-have baby items.
We’re now using it for Kaylee and it is invaluable. I mentioned yesterday that Kaylee loves to be swaddled, but she likes to be swaddled in warm, cozy blankets, not thin receiving blankets.
Sometimes she wiggles out of the swaddle and pulls the blanket up over her face while she’s napping. If I had an audio-only monitor, I would never know that she had done that.
However, with the video monitor, I can instantly see when she does something like that. It really gives me so much peace of mind being able to see her without having to go in and check on her.
We have the Summer Infant Video Monitor and haven’t had any problems with it in the two years that we’ve had it. Even when we lived in highly populated areas in San Diego, we still got a clear picture and sound.
One great thing about this video monitor is that you can add a second camera, so if you have two children that need to be monitored, you can check on them with the same handheld.
We have the 2.5″ baby monitor, but for the cost difference on Amazon, I’d almost go for the 1.8″ monitor. They both have a color picture during the day and night vision in the dark.
I really can’t express enough how much I love our video monitor. So, if you’re debating between an audio and a video baby monitor, I highly recommend spending the extra on a video monitor.
