Women. We can be pretty awesome when we show love and support for each other. Sadly, not all women are out there to support each other. So today, I say let’s celebrate the women that show unconditional love and support for each other this Mother’s Day.
One of those women in my life is my Mother-in-Law. One of my biggest fears in getting married was always that I’d get stuck with a Mother-in-Law that I did not get along with. After all, my own Mom and her Mother-in-Law never got along with each other in my lifetime.
Somehow, I got lucky and have been blessed with a Mother-in-Law that I not only get along with, but love. She is always there for me and our family no matter what. I have never felt anything but love and support from her, and I’m so grateful for that.
Whenever we need something, she’s there. When I start a new endeavor like this blog or my essential oil business, she is on board and telling everyone about it. She is one of my biggest supporters and I’m so happy to celebrate her this Mother’s Day.
We don’t get to see her as often as we’d like because she lives across the country, but the girls love her just as much from a distance as they would if she lived closer. The girls were so excited to pick out a Mother’s Day gift for her this year (and yes Cindy, spoiler alert – if you’re reading this you’re going to see your Mother’s Day gift before you receive it – sorry!).
American Greetings had a really fun One-Stop Shop display up at Walmart for Mother’s Day. They had great cards, cute stuffed animals, mugs, candy and so much more.
Of course the girls are at the age where they love jewelry, especially necklaces. So we headed over to the Mother’s Day display in the jewelry section.
Zoë was very thorough at looking at every single necklace and she finally settled upon a locket that has, “I Love You,” inscribed on it. We also read every single Mother’s Day card before she picked one out.
Of course we had to sort through lots of pictures to find the ones they wanted to put in the locket. Love my beautiful little girls!
And Zoë wanted to make sure Mimi got to see how great her handwriting is. I tried to get Kaylee to write her name on the card, but she wanted her big sister to do it for her. My budding little artists also wanted to make sure the envelope was decorated to perfection.
Is there a special woman you want to celebrate this Mother’s Day? Head to Walmart and check out the American Greetings One-Stop Shop Mother’s Day display for some great gift ideas.
