The ice cream maker comes with an instruction book full of easy to follow recipes. So far, we have made basic vanilla and fresh strawberry ice cream, and they both came out amazing.
The taste difference between homemade ice cream and the store bought junk (that’s full of unhealthy ingredients) is night and day.
Just check out how amazing this homemade strawberry ice cream came out!
It’s still relatively soft when you first make it (just the way I like it), but you can transfer it to a freezer safe bowl and put it in the freezer for a couple of hours if you prefer it to be firmer.
Plus, it’s super easy to make ice cream using the Cuisinart! First, you need to place the ice cream bowl in the freezer and leave it there until it’s frozen solid. It took about 2 days for it to completely freeze in our freezer. Now, we’re just keeping the bowl in our extra freezer so we can be ready to make ice cream whenever we want (you cannot store ice cream in it).
While the bowl is freezing, you mix up all of the ingredients in a bowl (the most basic recipe is just milk, cream, sugar and vanilla), then allow them to sit in the refrigerator for a couple of hours or overnight.
When the bowl is frozen and the mixture is ready, you just pour the mixture into the bowl while it’s in the ice cream maker, add the mixing paddle and let it work its magic for about 20 minutes and you have the perfect homemade ice cream!
You can also make frozen yogurt, sorbet and even coconut milk ice cream in the Cuisinart Ice Cream Maker. It’s a pretty amazing little kitchen gadget! Next on my list is to make coconut milk ice cream, raspberry sorbet and vanilla bean ice cream (I just got some amazing vanilla bean paste).
It’s compact, so it fits nicely on my counter, even in our small kitchen. And I love the fun red color.
Now that the hot weather is here, I highly recommend you get a Cuisinart Frozen Yogurt-Ice Cream & Sorbet Maker!
