So Chrystal asked me if I’d like to get an electric razor to review. I laughed. Years ago I used an electric razor for about a week and said “Never again.” I don’t know why (maybe the few glasses of wine I was primed with before the question), but I said “Sure, why not?”
So fast forward a couple of weeks and Chrystal presents me with the Philips Norelco Shaver 8800. I was like “What’s this?” She then proceeded to let me know of the commitment I made to review the electric razor and that I vouched to give it a solid week. I was like “awesome” in the most facetious way imaginable.
So I started to use the shaver.
Day 1: It worked; but it wasn’t great. I had to trim up with my regular disposable razor. I was like “Awesome, I get to do this for the next week.”
Day 2: “Really, I agreed to use this damn thing… ugh”
Day 3: “I guess when I’m fed wine I turn into a big SUCKER.”
Day 4: “HOLY S#!% it worked amazingly well; did Hell freeze over or is it the 2nd coming?”
Day 5: “Best shave I’ve had up to this point in my life.”
Day 6: “It did it again… but even better. This Norelco 8800 is right behind beer.”
Day 7: “I’m not a sucker… woot woot. I’m in love with this damn thing.”
It just took a few days for my facial hair to get used to the shaver then it worked great. I’m so glad I didn’t give up on it after the first couple of days.
Fast forward 2 weeks… I made an amazing discovery. So I picked up the directions and read them. The electric shaver can be used to wet shave with foam and water. That’s what’s up. My face is now as smooth as a baby’s a$$. (Lesson learned: Read the directions first!”)
Today: “Best f@#%ing shave ever! Just got to make sure my face is lathered up and wet.”
I NEVER thought I’d be down for an electric shaver, but, I’m that guy now… and I’m totally cool with it. I still have a disposable razor as a backup, in case an EMP from a MCE hit the earth; but I don’t see that being used any time soon.
Seriously, check this thing out here on Amazon. As a dad, I can say “The Philips Norelco Shaver 8800 would be an f@#%ing awesome Father’s Day Present.”
