I participated in an Influencer Activation Program on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Sea Tow. I received a promotional item to thank me for participating.
Growing up, I spent a lot of time on a boat. My family was big on fishing, so we’d go out on the ocean in San Diego on weekends to catch our limit of fish.
It was really fun being out there, watching schools of tuna and pods of dolphins swim by us. I love being in the middle of nature. Unfortunately, if you’re not prepared, you can get yourself in a bit of trouble.
I remember one time when our boat broke down when we were out on the ocean. That was a bit of a scary moment as I remember it was getting close to time for the sun to go down and we had to figure out how to get towed back in.
My Dad got on the radio and called for help. We were fortunate that time and found a fellow boater to help tow us in after some time. It would have probably been better if we could have had a membership to Sea Tow, which was founded in 2007, so we would have known we had a tow into shore.
Sea Tow is the top choice for boaters around the country for assistance on the water. Sea Tow members receive free towing, fuel drops, jump starts, priority service, Automated Radio Checks, 24/7 nationwide coverage, knowledgeable Captains, covered ungroundings, savings and much more.
That’s a pretty good value for the nominal cost of membership. The Gold Card membership runs $169 a year and the Lake Card membership is $119 a year. If you’re out on the water a lot, that’s a good investment.
Sea Tow is also rooted in community service. The Sea Tow Foundation was created by Sea Tow founder, Capt. Joe Frohnhoefer, to promote safe boating practices and education initiatives that directly reduce accidents, fatalities and property damage related to recreational boating.
As part of its mission, The Sea Tow Foundation has distributed nearly 15,000 life jackets nationwide to help make recreational boaters safer on the water through the Life Jacket Loaner Stand. Click here to find a location near you.
Boating safety is of the utmost important, especially if you have kids. In addition to making sure you have plenty of kid friendly snacks for the trip, here’s a First Mate Checklist for Kids from Sea Tow. It’s never to early to teach your kids boating safety.
