This post was written by me as a member of the Netflix Stream team, for which I receive a complimentary Netflix subscription.
Movies are a big part of the culture in our house. All of us love watching movies. It's a ritual to watch movies as a family every weekend. We like to snuggle up on the couch and watch a great family movie. Some nights, we even let the girls have a special kids night movie in their room.
When Daddy travels, I like to do fun things for the girls to keep their minds off Daddy being gone. Plus Mommy has more patience for kids cartoon movies than Daddy does, so it's a really special treat.
We usually spread a blanket out on the living room floor and eat either pizza or nachos. They love meals that we can share. It's a really special bonding time for us because we can eat together and laugh together at the same time.
We usually watch movies on Netflix. They always have a great selection of family movies, and they add new movies often. Some of the kids favorite movies on Netflix right now are:
- Cloudy With a Chance of Meatballs
- The Pirate Fairy
- The Smurfs 2
- Marvels Avengers
- Ferris Bueller's Day Off
- The Croods
- Honey I Shrunk the Kids
- The New Adventures of Pippi Longstocking
- Spy Kids 4
- The Parent Trap
- 101 Dalmations
- The Nut Job
- Daddy Day Care
I could probably make a much larger list, but Netflix always has a great selection of movies for the kids. So there is usually something I can find that they will want to watch – and I won't mind watching.
I just saw this recipe for Pizza Nachos. It looks like an awesome way to combine our pizza and nachos tradition. I think we'll have to try this recipe next time Daddy is traveling!
Do you have family movie night traditions?
