2 Copies of the GMO OMG DVD

The winner of this giveaway will receive 2 Blue-ray Dvds of GMO OMG. Who controls the future of your food? GMO OMG explores the systematic cor- porate takeover and potential loss of humanity’s most precious and ancient inheritance: seeds. Director Jeremy Seifert investigates how loss of seed diversity and corresponding laboratory assisted genetic alteration of food affects his young children, the health of our planet, and freedom of choice everywhere. GMO OMG follows one family’s struggle to live and eat without participating in an unhealthy, unjust, and destructive food system. In GMO OMG, the encroaching darkness of unknown health and environmental risks, chemical toxins, and food monopoly meets with the light of a growing global movement to take back what we have lost. Has the global food system been irrevocably hijacked? Is there still time to reclaim its purity, protect biodiversity and save ourselves?

I am most scared by the genetic modification of the food supply. I think we are playing with fire. The consequence to such actions are not understood and I fear we will not know the true extent until it is too late. I only eat non-GMO food, but due to cross contamination I am sure this will be harder as GMO contamination continues.

I’m concerned about our food supply because we have no idea what the long term effects of GMOs, pesticides, and chemicals will be….except that they won’t be safe or healthy. We’re being poisoned for profit.

I am concerned because much of what is in our food supply is not actually food. I am concerned about GMO’s because almost all independent studies are squashed, so only Monsanto’s information is allowed, and they spend millions in the effort to hide which foods contain which organisms and what those possible effects are.

A lot of reasons! People are not growing food and saving seeds, too much GMO, bees dying, farmers are getting older and the younger generations are not learning about farming/taking up farming, on and on!

I’m concerned that by using so much of the “same” seed over time, the natural variety and evolution will stop and we will be stuck with a very restricted set of seeds that will not produce the redundancy and flexibility in the food system that we had in the past.

I am concerned about our food supply because I want to be healthy and I want my family to be healthy. With all these mystery illnesses, allergies, etc. popping up that turn out to be from food we thought was safe to eat, it makes you afraid to put anything at all in your mouth.

It just seems like farms are disappearing more and more these days. I also am concerned with the amount of pollution that keeps getting dumped into good clean waters. Which in turn not only messes with our water supply but also the fish in streams and then the seafood from the oceans.

I am concerned because until about 5 years ago I had this idea that grocery stores sold food and anything there was safe to eat. Then I realized that a whole bunch of it wasn’t food at all. I hate the GMOs, I hate added growth hormones and I ate the preservatives, additives and outright poisons they stuff into as many products as they can. I believe that food is the best way to stay healthy and unfortunately mst people don’t realize how scary our situation is. The worst part is that so many of the big bad companies receive subsidies, which makes their food cheaper and drives the cost of “real” food up.

I saw a great meme recently which summed it up. It said, “Organic – what your grandparents called ‘food'”
