We all experience sore muscles at one time or another. For me lately, it has been from moving. Who knew moving was such a good workout?
Over the last month, we moved everything from the old house to the new house. Then we cleaned the old house from top to bottom. Now we're unpacking and organizing our new house.
I will say this. I dream of being a minimalist more than ever after seeing how much stuff we've acquired in the past 5 years. I never want to have to move that much stuff again!
While my husband did the heavy lifting (thank goodness for him), I did my fair share of packing, moving and cleaning too. My entire right arm was so sore it felt like it was going to fall off after cleaning the carpets!
I prefer to avoid pain medications whenever possible, so I figured I would just tough it out. Then I discovered Biofreeze® Professional products.
They're a great alternative to traditional pain relief products because they're non-systemic, non-narcotic and contain no NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs), salicylates or addictive substances.
And it's better than a bag of ice because you don't have to worry about freezing cold water dripping everywhere. Or trying to get the shape of the bag just right to cover the entire sore area.
The active ingredient in Biofreeze® Professional products is United States Pharmacopeia (USP) grade menthol. It works great to provide fast acting pain relief.
I was a little worried that it would feel very strong, but it didn't on me. I used the roller bottle on my sore leg, arm and shoulders and the pain was almost immediately lessened. And there was no burn. My husband is more sensitive to menthol-containing products, so he did feel more of a burning sensation, but he said it did help the pain.
The ingredients are relatively clean as well. You won't find parabens or propylene glycol in Biofreeze® Professional products. They're never tested on animals and are made in the USA. And I love that the have a colorless version so I can use it without worrying about ruining my favorite clothes (there is also a green version, so check the packaging before purchasing).
And I love that it comes in different application types as well – gel, roll-on or spray. I personally love the roll-on because it allows me to target the area precisely. And it's the perfect size to fit in my purse.
The gel goes on very smoothly and absorbs right away. So you aren't left with a greasy feeling.
However, if you have a large area of your body that's sore, the spray makes a good choice as you can cover a larger area faster. I actually find that the spray feels stronger than the roll-on or gel, so I prefer it for the areas that are the most sore.
If you're looking for a pain relief alternative, check out Biofreeze® products. Biofreeze retail version can be found at your favorite retailer. Biofreeze Professional must be purchased through your hands-on healthcare professional. Click here to find a reatiler near you.
