I don't know about you, but I am crazy busy. As much as I'd love to sit down and map out which stores I can get the best price at and which coupons will get me better deals on things we use, I simply don't have the time.
I try to buy things when they're on sale and freeze or store for later, but that's about as far as my time allots. So when I saw that the Walmart Savings Catcher program (available through the Walmart app) could make that process even easier for me, I absolutely had to check it out.
I know Walmart has good prices on things, but because it's a distance away, I only shop there when we're in the area already. We had taken a trip down there to check out Halloween costumes, so I decided it was the perfect time to give the app a try.
We bought some items we'd normally buy, like Nature's Path granola cereal, Happy Baby Smoothies, a box of fruit leather, quinoa and a couple other staples in addition to some super cute Halloween costume and the new Sleeping Beauty DVD.
It was so easy to add my receipt into the app. After downloading the Walmart app and entering my account information, I was able to pull up the Savings Catcher feature.
Start by clicking Scan a Receipt.
You just center the QR code from your receipt into the little square. If you can't get the QR code to scan, you can always type in the receipt information.
Your receipt information is automatically pulled up and you can view all of the items you purchased.
Once that is done, the system starts searching for better prices on the items you purchased. It can take up to 72 hours for the app to search for better prices, so be patient.
It took nearly 72 hours for me to get this result back. While it would've been nice to get money back, even if it was just spare change, it was also awesome to find out that I really did get the best deal possible.
