Does life seem like it’s speeding up some days? Like there just isn’t enough time to get everything done on your list?
I know the feeling. One of my top priorities is to get a homecooked meal in front of my family every night, when possible. However, lately we’ve been so busy that I feel like I simply can’t catch up.
Something had to give, so I have been looking at ways to save time on my top priorities, like serving a homecooked meal every day. I have tried a few meal delivery kits in the past, but I wanted to try a new one, so we got a shipment from HelloFresh. They have lots of meals that can be prepared in 30 minutes.
I was instantly impressed when I opened up the Hello Fresh box – no giant styrofoam container! They use a fabric box insert instead of styrofoam, which was an instant selling point for me.
Everything was really well packed, and the ice was still frozen. So I knew the ingredients would be super fresh!
All of the ingredients for three meals fit neatly on the shelf of our side-by-side-fridge. I love how simple the packaging makes it to grab what you need to quickly make dinner.
We received three meals to sample: Hearty Pork Chili, Adobo Loco Steak and Autumn Applesauce Pork. I was surprised by my favorite recipe in this shipment! Keep reading to see our impressions.
Hearty Pork Chili
The first recipe I cooked from our HelloFresh shipment was the Hearty Pork Chili. It was a cool Fall day, and we were craving something nourishing for lunch.
When the directions said the meal would only take 30 minutes to prepare – from start to finish – I was skeptical. Chili in 30 minutes?
But it was done lickedy split. It was so easy to prepare this HelloFresh homecooked meal that I didn’t even have to think about anything. Just open the package and follow the directions. It was easier than some other meal prep kits I’ve tried for sure.
And the flavor was great too! Really great, simple recipe. Hello Fresh even included the sour cream and cheddar cheese for garnishment. The only thing I had to supply for any of the meals was the oil for cooking with. I’d be happy to eat this homecooked meal again.
Adobo Loco Steak
I love Mexican and Southwest flavors, so I was super excited to try this recipe for Adobo Loco Steak. It looked like a gourmet type meal with super simple directions. Again, everything was included.
This recipe was true to the directions as well. I was able to make the Adobo Loco Steak recipe from HelloFresh in only 30 minutes.
The whole family enjoyed it and the spice of the poblano peppers was perfect. I’d also make this recipe again.
Autumn Applesauce Pork
This was the recipe I was most skeptical about out of the bunch. The ingredients looked too simple to impress me, but boy was I wrong!
The pork tenderloins that HelloFresh included in the shipment were so amazingly tender and flavorful that it left me wanting more (even though my tummy was full)!
It was just over the 30 minute mark to prepare at 40 minutes, but it was totally worth it. I would absolutely order the Autumn Applesauce Pork again. The entire family loved it as much as I did.
