As a young girl, I remember sitting at my grandma’s table and putting puzzles together with her all the time. She always had one going, and I spent a lot of time with her, so it’s one vivid memory I have from my childhood. I really enjoyed it, but it has been many years since I put together a puzzle.
When I first saw the amazing puzzles from Artifact Puzzles, it was love at first sight. They are more than just puzzles, they’re art. They take pieces of beautiful art and print them on ¼” thick environmentally friendly plywood with archival soy-based inks. Then they laser cut them into amazingly unique shapes in Seattle, WA and Menlo Park, CA.
I had a difficult time choosing a puzzle because there are so many amazing ones I’d love to have. I ended up choosing the limited edition Merriam Tailspin Wooden Jigsaw Puzzle (only 750 were made and they’re all numbered). Kaylee loves monkeys and both girls love music, so I thought they’d love seeing me put this one together.
The puzzle came in a nice, pine wood box.
After sliding the box open, you’ll find the puzzle pieces in a nice gift bag.
There are 303 pieces to this puzzle (assembled it is 11” x 15”).
I love the unique patterns of these puzzle pieces. There are monkey shapes, musical instrument shapes and more. Zoë had so much fun looking through them with me.
I have yet to complete putting this puzzle together since every time I get the border done one of the girls decides to “clean up” for me. I need to find somewhere they can’t reach to put it together!
I am very impressed with the quality of this puzzle – I have never seen anything like it before. If you are looking for a unique gift for the puzzle or art lover in your life, I recommend Artifact Puzzles. Purchase them on Amazon.com.
