When Zoë was a baby, one of my favorite gadgets was our video baby monitor. I seriously thought it was the coolest thing that I could watch her from the other room. I remember staring at the monitor making sure she was still breathing.
That was 6 years ago now (wow!), and my have video baby monitors come a long ways! I recently got to test out the Motorola MBP36S video baby monitor and it is seriously impressive!
Instead of the bulky monitor I would carry around with me before, it's a lightweight, full color LCD screen that shows very good detail when the light is right. I also love that it displays the temperature so you can make sure the environment in your child's room is just right.
From the handheld, you can make the camera swivel up and down, left and right. That feature is especially important when your baby gets a little bigger and moves around more. It's also perfect for my girls when they're playing in their room. After the hair cutting incident several months back, I can now check to see what they're doing when things get a little too quiet in there.
Zoë actually said she's happy there's a camera in their room now so I can see when her little sister is pestering her, LOL. I thought she'd be upset by me setting it up, but nope, she does not want me to take it out of their room. There's a nifty little 2-way communication feature, so I can let them know I'm watching them if they're doing something they shouldn't be.
It also has night vision so you can check on your little ones in the dark. There is even a picture in picture feature so you can watch kids in two rooms at the same time (you can connect up to 4 cameras to one handheld).
The range of the Motorola MBP36S video baby monitor is 590 feet, so you can easily go outside to do some yard work while the baby naps. There is an out of range alert as well should you go beyond the monitor's range.
It's awesome how far video baby monitors have come in just a few short years. If you're expecting or have kids, definitely check out the Motorola MBP36S video baby monitor. It's a great buy!
