Growing up, board games were a huge part of our family life. We had a whole cabinet of games at our house, and my grandma did as well. On every holiday and many weekends, my cousins, aunts, grandma and the rest of the family would stay up all night playing games. It was a family tradition that I will always hold dear in my heart. So many wonderful family memories came from playing board games.
My grandmother has since passed, and the family get togethers don't really happen the same way without her. She was the glue that held us all together and I miss her dearly. Nonetheless, my girls are at the age now where they absolutely love playing board games. I love encouraging them to play games together because it's interactive and fun! I try to play games with them regularly too.
We recently got Hasbro's Pie Face game and it became the girls' favorite game right away. I think it helped that it includes whipped cream! I got a can of Reddi Wip for them to use for the game even though I normally make it from scratch (if you have dairy sensitivities, you can also make it with coconut milk). They used the entire can in one sitting! Oh boy did they have energy when they were done playing 🙂
If you haven't played the Pie Face game yet, it's a very simple yet hilarious game that will have your whole family laughing out loud. The premise is pretty simple. You load up the hand with whipped cream, spin the dial to see how many “turns” you get, then you turn the handle and wait to see if you'll get splattered with whipped cream.
I have made a promise to the girls that I will play more and be serious less, and the Pie Face game was definitely great for loosening me up a bit. We had giggles together for a good hour over Pie Face. It definitely brought some family fun into our house.
If you're looking for a new board game to give as a gift or play with your family this holiday season, check out the Pie Face game in the Hasbro Toy Store.
