My girls have been asking us for a dog for a while now. They’d love a cat, but Zoë is allergic, so they’d be more than happy with a dog.
However, we travel a lot and it’s usually spontaneous. We really enjoy having flexibility in our lives to pick up and go on an adventure whenever we want.
You simply can’t do that when you have a dog. Dogs need constant attention and care – and you can’t simply leave them at home while you go on your last-minute road trip.
Our decision not to have a dog at this time is always reinforced when we talk to friends with pets that can’t easily travel when they want to. Their lives have to be planned around their pet, and that simply isn’t right for our family at this time.
So, instead of a dog, we got an adorable WowWee Chippies puppy named Chippo.
If you haven’t heard of them yet, Chippies are playful puppies who follow your commands to play and perform tricks. The included booklet tells you what to do in order to get certain reactions from your Chippies pup.
WowWee Chippies sniff, bark, kiss, sneeze, dance, sing, chase its tail and act like a guard dog. Chippies can explore your room on their own or guard it from intruders using their sensors. If you have more than one Chippie, they will even sing together as a pack.
From the moment we opened the package, the girls were enamored with Chippo.
Kaylee especially got a kick out of the fact that she can make Chippo fart or pretend to take a potty break with the commands provided. Kids and bathroom jokes 😉
Chippies work not only on smoother surfaces like in our kitchen, but they work on our carpet as well. I think we may have to look into getting a second one so each of the girls can have their own dog to care for.
Plus, each of the Chippies have different personalities, there’s a pup for everyone. So maybe we should collect them all.
