Do you know the hottest animated movies of 2017? Check out our list of the 5 best animated movies to gift for Christmas before you start shopping!
Every year, I like to make sure my girls get 1-2 new movies each for Christmas. That way, over the school break, they have something fun, new and exciting to watch on the days where I have to work.
I like to help them get their room set up for a day of fun. We lay out blankets, pop popcorn and bake some treats. And of course we have to have a fun drink like sparkling cider to make the day even more festive.
Then we cover the windows and their bedroom is a magical movie theater. It’s super fun for them, and I have a couple of hours to get some work done. Win-win for us all!
Other times, when I can take the day off of work, we set up our fun movie theater experience in the living room. Those are very special days!
We have some really great movies ready for our Christmas break movie marathon. Do you?
If you’re stuck on what to buy for the kid or kids on your Christmas shopping list, here are the 5 best animated movies to gift for Christmas.
5 Best Animated Movies to Gift for Christmas
1. Despicable Me 3
If you follow the Despicable Me and Minions movies, then you’ll love Despicable Me 3! We had the opportunity to see it in the theaters earlier this year as a reward for my girls being the top sellers in our troop for Girl Scout cookie sales. Ever since then, the girls have been begging to see it again. Even I like it!
I haven’t seen Leap yet, but I hear it’s absolutely adorable with a good message. My girls, especially Kaylee, have been begging to see it. It’s all about a little girl who dreams of being a professional ballerina, and she has to overcome all sorts of hurdles to chase her dream. Since we encourage our girls to chase all of their dreams, I’m looking forward to watching this movie with them.
3. Cars 3
I absolutely adored the first Cars movie. I had no idea there was a Cars 3 until my girls pointed it out. As usual, it looks like a great addition to the Cars series. Both boys and girls will love this movie.
We’ve owned this movie for several months. If the little girl on your Christmas shopping list hasn’t seen it yet, this one is a must buy. I love how Moana is a strong female character that can inspire my girls. That’s so important in encouraging them to have strength to pursue their dreams and passions.
5. The Lego Ninjago Movie
I had to throw one movie in here targeted more at boys since I have a tendency to focus on girls. I have heard great things about The Lego Ninjago Movie. If the kiddo you’re shopping for loves LEGOs and movies, this one will be a great choice!
