Christmas has always been one of my favorite holidays. Taking one day out of the year to be totally present and show my family how much I love them is a reminder to be present and show gratitude every day in the coming year.
While my once very large family has grown up and evolved, I still enjoy Christmas very much. In fact, I think I love it even more now that I'm a parent.
There's nothing like waking upon Christmas morning and watching my daughters eyes light up when they see what Santa left for them. And watching the gratitude in their hearts grow with each gift they open is a treasure as well.
However, I have learned over the years that there is one simple mistake that can ruin Christmas morning. Do you know that offense is?
If you forget the batteries for your child's most cherished gift, Christmas morning won't be quite as blissful as you imagined. And it's not as simple as running to the store real quick to grab some batteries. Most stores will be closed.
So if I can offer you one piece of advice, don't be one of the 2 in 5 moms who say they've forgotten batteries for a gift.* Make a list of all of the gifts you purchased your child or that you know were purchased for them. Then ensure you have enough batteries plus some extras for any unexpected gifts.
Please don't go buy the cheap dollar store batteries though. While the price is great, I have had terrible experience with the quality. You don't want your child's toy to stop running 10 minutes after you load the batteries.
I've found, instead, that it's better to go with the best quality and longest lasting batteries. I prefer batteries that last longer not only because it's more convenient, but also because it means fewer batteries end up in the landfills.
Did you know that Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ AA batteries are the #1 longest-lasting AA batteries? They also hold power in storage for up to 20 years (AA/AAA), so you can stock up without worrying that they'll lose their charge before you get to use them.
They also feature leak resistant construction to protect those shiny, new toys, gadgets and devices. So stock up now, before the holidays get too crazy. You'll be happy you did!
I'm off to go make sure we have enough Energizer® Ultimate Lithium™ batteries to last through the year!
Have you ever forgotten batteries on Christmas morning?
