Smoothies are one of my favorite healthy breakfast options because they’re so easy to make. During the hot summer months, we rely on cold drinks like this Mango Pineapple Smoothie to keep us cool.

This creamy smoothie is full of delicious tropical flavors and can be made in mere minutes with just a few simple ingredients. The addition of chilled coconut milk is what makes this tropical drink so special.

It’s that smooth, creamy goodness that makes this smoothie so decadent. And the best part is that when you whip it up in the blender, it gets a light, fluffy texture – it’s pretty amazing.

Ingredients and supplies

  • 1 can of chilled full-fat coconut milk
  • 10 ounces of frozen pineapple
  • 10 ounces of frozen mango
  • ½ cup of pineapple juice
  • High-speed blender

By the Numbers: How to Make a Mango Pineapple Smoothie

Follow these simple step-by-step instructions to learn how to make an easy Mango Pineapple Smoothie.

Step 1: Blend Ingredients

Place one can of chilled coconut milk, 10 ounces of frozen pineapple and 10 ounces of frozen mango in a high-speed blender. Turn the blender on high and blend the ingredients together until they’re whipped and smooth. If you need to adjust the texture, slowly add about ½ cup of pineapple juice to the blender, just until you get the consistency you want. You may need a bit more or less pineapple juice, depending on the cream-to-water ratio in the coconut milk you use.

Step 2: Serve Smoothies

Pour your tropical mango pineapple smoothie from the blender into glasses and serve with straws on a hot day.

Tips for Making the Best Mango Pineapple Smoothie

Answers to all of your questions about making this delicious Mango Pineapple Smoothie recipe.

Can fresh fruit be used?

Yes, if you prefer, you can use fresh pineapple and fresh mango instead of frozen. However, you’ll probably want to add ice to give your smoothie the chilled smoothie texture you’re after.

Other variations

Use different fruits. To switch up the flavors, you can use pretty much any frozen fruit – other tropical fruits, peaches, berries or any combination of fruit you enjoy. The addition of fresh or frozen banana will give this smoothie an extra creamy texture!

Choose a different juice. Orange juice and lime juice both work well in this recipe if you don’t have pineapple juice. Coconut water will give you a mellower flavor.

Substitute for coconut milk. If you don’t have a can of coconut milk handy, you can also use Greek yogurt or coconut yogurt. Or, if you want to stick with a dairy-free version, you can use your favorite non-dairy milk like almond milk or oat milk with the addition of ice for a thicker smoothie.

Tip: Check the coconut milk can

I like to check the can of coconut milk first. Give it a good shake to make sure it doesn’t swish around. It should haave a nice solid sound so you know you have a nice chunk of coconut cream in there.

Make it a smoothie bowl

This pineapple mango smoothie recipe also makes a divine smoothie bowl. Add pineapple chunks, ripe mango slices, shredded coconut, chia seeds and/or hemp seeds for a lovely variety of textures.
