Do you love homemade snow man decorations? This DIY Mason Jar Ring Snowman Christmas Tree Ornament is easy to make from common craft supplies you may already have on hand.
When I was younger, my entire Christmas decoration collection was comprised of nearly all snowmen. I have always absolutely adored snowman decorations! Especially since even seeing snow was a special treat growing up in San Diego.
Now that we live in the mountains where it snows every year, I still love snowmen, but for different reasons. My girls love the snow. I don’t think they’d ever want to live anywhere it didn’t know thanks to their love of snowboarding.
Every year when we get our first snow, I know one of the very first things they will do is run outside to build a snowman. It’s always so much fun to watch them work together until their faces are so red they have to come inside to warm up.
On cold days, we like to sit down and craft together. It’s a fun mother-daughter bonding experience. Plus I love watching them get creative with their crafting.
To get us excited for the first snow of winter, we decided to make snow man themed Christmas tree ornaments. That way maybe we can coax the snow into coming soon!
We used mason jar rings because we always have them laying around. And we had a bunch of fabric scraps from other crafts like our reusable hand warmers.
I love being eco-friendly and making crafts out of upcycled materials. It really makes you think outside the box and be more creative. I think our homemade Mason Jar Ring Snowman ornament will look great on our Christmas tree this year and in years to come.
If you adore snowmen as much as we do, I hope you’ll enjoy this DIY Mason Jar Ring Snowman Ornament craft. Let me know how your Christmas tree ornament turns out by sharing it on social media and tagging Happy Mothering and by leaving a rating.
Mason Jar Ring Snowman Ornament Tutorial
- Begin by tracing the lid onto the white fabric. It will serve as your stencil so you cut out the perfect circle. Cut the white circle out of the fabric. Use the glue to attach the fabric to the inside of the mason jar ring. Press until it is securely in place. Trim away any extra fabric from around the mason jar ring.
- Create the face for the snowman. You will need black dots for the eyes and mouth, an orange triangle for the face and a small strip of plaid for the scarf. Cut out the shapes as shown and hot glue them to the face of the ornament.
- Add a dab of hot glue to the segment of twine. Press to the back of the lid as a hanger.
