This DIY Mason Jar Ring Snowman Christmas Tree Ornament is easy to make from common craft supplies you may already have on hand.
Every year when we get our first snow, I know one of the very first things they will do is run outside to build a snowman. When they come in, we like to sit down and craft together.
To get us excited for the first snow of winter, we decided to make snow man themed Christmas tree ornaments. We used mason jar rings because we always have them laying around. And we had a bunch of fabric scraps from other crafts like our reusable hand warmers.
I love being eco-friendly and making crafts out of upcycled materials. It really makes you think outside the box and be more creative, which is so fun.
I think our homemade Mason Jar Ring Snowman ornament will look great on our Christmas tree this year and in years to come.
Mason Jar Ring Snowman Ornament Tutorial
- Begin by tracing the lid onto the white fabric. It will serve as your stencil so you cut out the perfect circle. Cut the white circle out of the fabric. Use the glue to attach the fabric to the inside of the mason jar ring. Press until it is securely in place. Trim away any extra fabric from around the mason jar ring.
- Create the face for the snowman. You will need black dots for the eyes and mouth, an orange triangle for the face and a small strip of plaid for the scarf. Cut out the shapes as shown and hot glue them to the face of the ornament.
- Add a dab of hot glue to the segment of twine. Press to the back of the lid as a hanger.
