Homemade bug repellent floating candle on a white wood table with lemon halves

I love the outdoors, but I hate bugs. If you’re like me you prefer to choose a natural bug repellent.

I know many bugs have their purpose in our eco-system, but I don’t want them on my front porch. So I like to use citronella candles to keep them away.

This floating candle in a jar uses citronella essential oil along with lemon and rosemary to repel mosquitoes, gnats and other bugs. Not only is this DIY Natural Bug Repellent Floating Candle Jar functional, but it’s pretty too!

If you want to try an essential oil blend other than Citronella, you can opt for the Bug Away blend. It’s kid safe too.
