Since I got sick and started losing weight, the amount of food I eat has been greatly increased. Eating 2,000 calories is a low day for me. Eating 5,000 calories would be a high day. Most days, I’m somewhere in between there. I don’t recommend that sort of calorie intake for anyone who isn’t actively trying to gain weight!
To get that many calories into my body, I have to eat all day long. I eat twice as much as my husband at dinner. I eat breakfast and lunch. And I eat tons of snacks. I pretty much have 3-4 different snacks stashed in my bedroom at all times.
We’re trying to keep healthier snacks handy for me. I love fruits and veggies, but they don’t have a ton of calories. And I can only eat so many nuts, so I’m constantly shopping for more snacks.
What’s that box that UPS delivered just now? You can be sure that no matter what else is in it, there are probably some snacks snuck in there too 😉 Some days I feel like Vince Vaughn’s character on Wedding Crashers, and I’m okay with that.
This week I got a sneak peek at the new packaging for Boulder Canyon chips. I have a weakness for chips (most times, my cravings are not for sweets), so I was pretty excited to rip into the latest addition to my snack stash.
Boulder Canyon chips are made with some unique oils like olive, avocado, rice bran, sunflower and coconut. They even have several varieties of chips that are made using only three ingredients. I like simple ingredient lists!
We’ve tried a few of the Boulder Canyon chip varieties:
- Sweet Vinegar chips cooked in olive oil
- Roasted Jalapeno Chips cooked in rice bran oil
- Malt Vinegar & Sea Salt cooked in avocado oil
- Sea Salt cooked in sunflower and/or safflower oil
The only one of these flavors that wasn’t gluten free was Malt Vinegar, so be sure to avoid that flavor if you’re gluten free.
Kaylee wanted to try it first. Even though she’s making a super sour face, she couldn’t stop eating the chips. She said she liked them, LOL.
I like that Boulder Canyon uses Green Energy and that none of their products contain trans fats and they offer plenty of allergy friendly options. Their labels are easy to understand so I don’t have to hunt around to figure out if they’re gluten free.
I enjoy snacking on Boulder Canyon chips. They’re crunchy and flavorful, and a healthier choice than many of the potato chips you find at the grocery store.
