Giving your chickens a calcium supplement is important. They'll eat what they need, so I always give them egg shell calcium!

– Egg Shells - as many as you have available – Mixing bowl – Baking sheet – Meat tenderizer – Storage container

How to make  an egg shell calcium supplement for chickens

Gather Lots of Egg Shells

Gather as many egg shells as you can. I keep them in a bowl until I have collected a large batch.

Crush the Egg Shells

Crush all of the egg shells with a meat tenderizer or heavy potato masher.

Bake Crushed Egg Shells

Spread the crushed egg shells out on a baking pan and bake in the oven at 350 degrees F for about 8 minutes.
