Easiest Way to Cook Frozen Salmon

Poaching salmon is one of the easiest ways to make it. There’s no need to thaw first, so cooking salmon from frozen is a great method for an easy dinner.


– Salmon fillets – Dry white wine – Extra-virgin olive oil – Fresh-squeezed lemon juice – Sliced lemons – Minced fresh rosemary – Capers – Minced shallots – Roughly chopped garlic –Sea salt – Black pepper – Water

How to Poach Frozen Salmon on the Stove Top


Make Poaching Liquid

Add wine, olive oil, lemon juice, lemon slices, rosemary, capers, shallots & garlic to a  skillet with enough water to cover the salmon. Bring to a boil then turn the heat down to a simmer.


Rinse Frozen Salmon

Rinse your salmon filets under cold running water to remove the protective ice glaze.


Add Salmon to Liquid

Turn off the heat and add the salmon to the pan of liquid, skin side down. If the salmon isn’t submerged, add more water. Return heat to a simmer (don’t boil).
